i like the dsmlink idea but im not about to go out and spend another 500 on a laptop. :talon:

For less than 200 you can find one on ebay that will support your needs with the link. OR you can also run it on a palm.:thumb:

I second the DSMlink idea! This mod should be a pretty early mod. It allows you to take control and make sure nothing is going wrong. The features can also knock a good bit of time on your 1/4 runs. Deff. go this route with a cheap laptop.

i wasnt sure where this belonged, and i feel like a noob for asking this but ive searched and no clear answers were found, so my dad wants to buy something for my car because i have been helping him out alot, read my mod list and tell me what single part that i dont have will give me the best results, out of chipped ecu with stage 3 keydiver chip, cams (i can talk him into it), smim ( seen some on ebay for around 235$) , i have a fmic i just have to put it on, i have an evo fuel pump for the time being, but what choices am i looking at for 200-300, or more or less , comments suggestiong or even experiences are very much appreciated :thumb:

thanks in advance tuners :D

EDIT: my car is daily driven

ah i forgot to put that in there, i am making my own water injection kit, as soon as the boost controlled switch comes in , i will be spraying 240cc's of water/alky, and if not satisfied i will spray 450cc's i can spray up to 494cc's , im not concerned about water injection i have that covered, and cams may be out of the question but he wanted to know what the best thing would be to buy for my car right now that would increase horsepower ( so no gauges or wbo2 )

I do have some experience running nitrous on v8 cars. Nitrous will not hurt your motor as long as you do not go lean or go too aggressive on the nitrous pill. I assume that you are just looking for speed at the track and not going to be using the nitrous everyday. If that is the case a 50-75 shot of nitrous will do exactly what you are looking for without killing your motor. Just make sure you have the fuel end sorted out and you will be fine. A call to the NOS reps will get you in the ballpark on a good nitrous tune.

I would buy the 90 EPROM that is on your wishlist. Then have new capacitors put in along with a socketed EPROM and wait patiently til you can get DSMlink.

I know it doesnt seem too fun but with less than $300 and the setup you currently have you cant really do a whole lot and actually see huge gains like you want.

You could sell your turbo and fuel pump, then take that and the extra 300 or so to buy (used) a bigger fuel pump, fpr and larger turbo. That will take you into 11s, ha.. but seriously do it, either way nice mod list.

Im not saying this is 100% safe by any means...nor am I suggesting that you do this, but I am throwing an idea out for more power. Shave the block a tiny bit. The GSX with the 16G should be (correct me if Im wrong) designed for 91 octane anyways, so a little block shaving wont hurt you too much if my theory is correct. Id do more research before touching your block.

eIII16g should have no problems hitting 11's nor should a evo8 fuel pump(160lph), put on your pump and front mount or water injection or both:) thats an 11 or damn near close right there, cams would be nice might be able to find some good used for 300......or spray it:thumb: i like all the ideas!

I say figure out which route you are going to take as far as tuning. Get a GOOD tune with whatever device you decide to go with. throw in some race gas, turn up the boost (only with the GOOD tune). Do some weight reductions. Cams wouldnt hurt. Practice getting some nasty launches, and you should be good for atleast some low 12s.

11s are a little harder than it sounds on a big16 no nitrous. Well it was for me atleast, and I have been at it for years. Running that turbo.

Tires are a BIG factor. Buy some good DRs for track use.:thumb:

Goodluck,

Wendy

Your best bet is to get the chip and eprom so you can have injector compensation and use the safc for more of fine tuning then injector compensating. Not to mention a 2 stage will help your launches and give you an edge. Next time put the mods on that you have and then see where your are. I think you might be knocin on 11's door with a fmic and more boost with those injectors.

WTF a girl running 11's? :thumb: schweet!, yea i have the maft and afc, and me and john are sharing a logger, so i have tuning down , i put 6 gallons of c16 last time i went to the track and all 3 runs were shitty , i turned the boost up to about 24 psi so i went a click richer on the maft and fuel cut all the way down the track (still ran a 13.4) then 2nd pass i was looking and waiting for a vette to come up to the line and when i looked at my light it was green so i just bogged the launch and ran a 14.4 , and the 3rd pass i hit the revlimiter in 1st and then wouldnt go into 2nd , and i tried to see if i could stay in 3rd till the end , didnt work bounced off the revlimiter again and could get 4th, ran a 13.6 and got beat by my friend and his 300zx tt LOL..

anyways, i think i like all your ideas, but i think this is where im going to go, i think im going to get the 90 eprom and get it chipped, ( i have other ecus for trade in so i get discount ) and then a nitrous kit and spray a 50 shot, how does that sound?

i like to spin all 4 a little , its cheap insurance against breaking drivetrain components , up to a certain point LOL..:p

i was cutting 1.8 60' times almost a 1.7 on the 13 sec run , and that was my first time ever at a track , i think i may be able to cut a 1.7 or even a 1.6 with a studder box and these fuzion tires, if i get a studder box i will have it set for higher rpms, like 6000 or something, i usually get best results when i launch at that rpm,
also my car's revlimiter is 7500, i thought 1g's were 7200?

Nitrous is truely a preference. However please dont take me the wrong way when I say. Your times would be a hell of alot better with the setup you have. If you would focus. Get a little more in tune with your car and how it drives, and practices those launches.

Driving plays a HUGE factor.

Do you have a wideband? That may also be a good purchase for you.

NOTE* Stay out of that rev. limiter.:)

no i do not have a wideband, but my dad wants to buy me something that will increase performance, i will have to save up and get a wideband myself, no problems there, my dad doesnt think i should spend 300$ on an "o2 sensor" no matter how hard to try to drill it in, hes oldschool ROFL

i completely agree , but i dont like practicing launches, i feel my cars pain evertime i launch it, stock drivetrain components and a 6 puck clutch, not to mention a busted cv joint :shhh: but my dad has been a tranmission builder for about 15 years now and he works at action transmission, so if something breaks , i think we could work something out :sneaky: i think i am going to raise the rev limit to 8k with the chip.

Oh I do hope you arent running a 6 puck with a stock flywheel. If so a new flywheel might be what you are buying in the future.:D

I honesty dont think that the 8k is going to help you on top end with a 16g. Just my .02

Tell your Dad I said he can pay for all the power adders he wants. However ask him is he going to pay for the repairs to the engine when you run lean and granade it? LOL

Trust me I grew up in a V8 world. These motors can not be compared.
