Well, lately i fell into a good amount of money and I am ready to put some heat under the hood. I have a budget of about 5k but half of it is going towards a fully built 4 speed. That leaves me with 2500 in go fast mods. Right now my car is basically stock, so here's what I had in mind.....

rnr turbo back 500
evo 3 O2 ported 150
3 inch high flow cat 80
dsmlink + port install 700
fp cams + install 700
ebat front mount+ pipes 600
1g bov 80 new
pump 150
fpr 100
850 injectors 300
50 trim 700

Did I leave any thing out? Lemme know. Basically power goals are to be able to chirp all four tires in first with out a torque brake and trap any where over 115. I want to floor the gas and have enough power to basically have more pull than traction on street tires. If the 50 trim is not big enough to do this offer an alternative. The car will only see california shyte 91 octane so thats why i was looking at such large injectors. Thanks for all your replies in advance.

I realize I went a bit over my budget, I guess the cams and front mount can wait a month or 2

PS I dont want to leave any impression that i have it all together, this is my first car ive to put real mods on and some feedback, or any advice is very much welcome. Ask me questions just to be sure I am doing this right, any help will be valued as helpful. Thanks again.

Honestly, I'd sell the 2g and get a 1g awd with a 6 bolt and then use the money from the 2g to put into the 1g along with the 2500. At least thats what Im doing with my 95 gst.

alright well first dont get rnr turbo-back for 500 cause thats not ss, its always better to go ss so u dont have to upgrade it ever again, so add 100 bucks on there and u got ur cost.

Also where are u getting these prices from? cause they all are cheaper than what i've been looking at. Is there some cheaper company or website i looked over?

My RnR 3" o2 eliminator SS turbo back w/cat cost $884 with shipping costs. I ordered it back on June 8th and still haven't gotten my entire order so I can't even try it out to give some impression on it. What I have gotten so far is nicely done, but if I had it to do over again I would have spent a bit more on a different company's exhaust system so that I could have actually used it this summer. Its not fun having spent a lot of money on parts that you never see. Just my 2 cents on the exhaust system. And, I would go for the o2 eliminator rather then going with a different housing.

Also, don't forget about the necessary gauges like boost and EGT. And of course a boost controller.

What about this? I am thinking of dropping the cams and dsmlink for maft blow through and a bigger turbo. Ive really got a hard on for the new fp3052, problem is that bumps the expenses of my o2 housing as well as external wastegate.

I'm thinkin custom exhaust, roughly 5-800
fp3052 1300
o2 housing 250
tial 40mm 300
maf 200
translator 200
850 inj 350
ebay front mount and DIY pipes 600

Setup 50 trim or setup fp3052?

I have 8k to work minus 2500 for the trans. I didn't really wanna spend it all, but hey, I would end up buying this stuff eventually so.......thanks for your input,

Chris

I agree with getting RNR's O2 eliminator turboback, but you really have no reason to get SS, especially with you being in California. Also, you have no real solid reason to sell your car and buy a 1g, so don't. The Fp3052 is basically a 50 trim, but there are other alternatives. http://www.bullseye-power.com/product_info.php?cPath=37&products_id=38 T04B v-trim. It'll flow as much as a 50 trim and for a good price.

IMO I wouldn't get any more then 660 injectors if you get the 50 trim. I see about 75% injector duty cycle at 22psi on 91 pump pee and that is more then enough room to work with. The fp 3052 is a great turbo. It flows 52 lbs per minute compared to a 50 trim that flows around 48 lbs. If you set everything up right you will be more then happy with either turbo. You can of course save a few bucks if you go with a 50 trim.

Well the only thing that has me torn is the transient response of the 3052. The lag is the same if not better than the 50 trim, it flows more on the bottom, top, and middle, and has transient response thats been compared to a V8. That said, i WOULD like to save some money, but not at the price of transient response

to give you an idea of why I say this

transient response with my t25 is terrible. Maybe mine is broken, but if I press the pedal at 4k, I still dont have full boost until 5k (this is in first gear) More lag is no big deal but as long as transient response feels more improoved over my t25, I will be happy with either.

If you dont have full boost on a t 25 till 5K then thats's the mosy obvious sign that your is broken ...................... :talon:

Dont confuse that with lag, it actually spools prompty at 25-2600 on time evry time, I was more reffering to what happens when I get on it from a roll. Lets say I am cruisin at 25-30 in first (about 4k), it is ussually about 2 seconds or so before the turbo will reach full boost again, I was just using those numbers as a reference point.

Setup 50 trim or setup fp3052?

earlier in your post you said you would have to do away with frount mount and cams to fit your budget. well yea do away with cams, thats fine. but if u think your gonna run either of those two turbos mentioned above without a front mount u have big fukcing rocks in your head. :|

first of all you live in california, you dont need a ss exhaust.
second if you would like your product a year from now... order it from rnr.

With a 50 trim (or any big turbo for that matter) I think you know the transient response isn't that great. But IMO it isn't that bad. That's just something you have to get use to because once you hit full boost and your running 22psi on pump your going to make up for what you lost and then some. Not just some, a lot. There are some people who don't like the lag and stick with a smaller turbo. You just have to pick a higher rpm range when your shifting to spool the beech. Where typically you could punch it in the middle of 3rd and get spool quickly, you'll have to downshif into second with a larger turbo for example. I would say find someone in your area who has a turbo comparable to what your looking for and go for a ride. I know this isn't always possible, but if it is this will give you a better feel.

Is the money you set aside for the transmission for an auto or manual? I didnt see in your profile what you car is. If you have an auto I would spend the money on putting a 5spd in it. If it is a manual dont forget about some kind of high performance clutch.

It is for an auto, but i dont think I will do the swap. I am looking foward to a full ipt setup

leakyfaucet, check out http://www.bullseye-power.com/product_info.php?cPath=37&products_id=38, this is just the to4b

ok so the 14b took a crap and I want something bigger. I have about $1000 to spend. A friend pointed me to this turbo. http://www.diamondstarmotorsport.com/turboparts.shtml Looks nice and will definitley get the car where I want it to go according to the product description. I want a high eleven second quarter mile time at my altitude. I wanted to know if anyone has the turbo and has any reviews or anything on it. I tried looking in www.dsmreviews.com and found nothing usefull. And a search returned no real answers. What do you guys think of this turbo? Anyone recommend any other turbos that are $1000 or else that actually have real product review, numbers etc? Thanks in advance, here are my current mods:

Apexi N1 Cat back and downpipe. Greddy Type-S BOV. punishment racing O2 housing, dejon race fmic, walbro 255, pte 780cc injectors, aeromotive afpr, exedy ceramatalic clutch, act flywheel, apexi safc, greddy profec b spec 2, dejon 3 inch intake w/ 3 inch k&n, 3 inch gm mas with maft, ARP head studs, 2g exhaust manifold.

Sk8er,

I have the PTE gt32e from DSMotorsports, I love the turbo so far. Check my mods they are similar to yours only i have 650cc injectors.(I think 750's are in my future) As of now, two months into tuning with this new turbo I have seen 87% duty cycle on my injectors at 21psi but the car is still running very rich. I need some Dyno time but funds have been low. My only un-official testing is on a highway onramp. With my B16g 0-85mph by the merge sign at the bottom of the ramp. With the GT32E 0-95mph in the same distance letting off the gas before the sign to merge onto the highway. I hope to get to Englishtown for a test and tune session before the season ends, then I'll have a time slip to go with the new turbo. I will admit that it is much more laggy than my B16G, but the top end never seems to end, and the pull is astonighing.

When do you see full boost? What rpm/gear? I would love to see some track times or dyno numbers. Are you knocking at all running 21psi on pump? wow we have the same car, ran almost the same exact time, and we have the same rims. Damn your auto! I really am a shitty driver. 2.15 60-foot.

hey the gt3255 is an alsome custom 50 trim spools great and makes some really nice power. mid 11's to be exact. hits 26 psi by 3800rpms.

by the way i have one for sale wiht less then 200 mines on it with free oil feed link pm if interested. :thumb:
