thanks guys for all the input...good and bad  ..but i think im just gonna save up and buy a hahn stage II and a bottom end kit...(it looks decent enough i guess and their is just no substitute for horsepower)..itll take quite a bit more money but im gonna save up for another year..so next summer......is putting a star or hahn stage 1 kit even worth the time, effort, or money??...has anyone run decent 1/4 mile times w/ one of these plus other mods such as I/H/E in combination w/ the kit?

I guess this isn't that bad of an idea but come next summer don't be surprised if your tastes have completely changed and you find yoruself doing something completely different with your cash.

Like i said in the title, not sure what to buy for my baby. I was thinking a greddy type s for the uicp that i recently purchased, but i hear that i should buy the licp before i swap out the bottom. You know switch both at the same time. I was thinking of trying to find a used rear hatch with a turbo spoiler on it, so i can derice my car. I was also thinking of finding a eclipse rear so i can do my rear end conversion. All though i know i can get a type s for 150 off of a guy i know, would i really need to get the licp now or should i get it at the same time? Tough choice, but i am unsure of the prices for the other things i have listed(rear bumper, rear hatch with spoiler) that could determine what i choose by finding out the prices. Anyways, any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

An aftermarket BOV would be pointless right now w/the mods that you have. I'd say either get a MBC w/gauge or save up some more money and do some suspension mods. Or if your going looks first do the conversion.

invest in stocks...quadruple yourmoney, invest again, quadruple your money again, then go buy stuff for your car.

or just buy a tuning device of some kind if you already have one then buy a bov if you like the sound, DEF worth the price :) never have gotten tired of my hks ssqv psssssssssh

Save it... Your gonna be glad you did when your car starts to shit out on ya

Always keep money stashed away for if your car breaks... I have about a grand I'd love to spend on mods but I'm screwed if I throw a rod and don't have the extra money.

But when you do have the extra money. Best thing to do first is start work on the suspension and drivetrain so you can launch better and any power you add to your car, you can handle it.

You can check my profile but I will list what I have already or whats on the way that doesnt come out of the 1k.

UICP
1G BOV
Air Intake & Filter
3" DP
2.5" Catback
MBC
A/F guage
Boost Guage
Eibach Prokit
KYB AGX struts
NGK Plugs & Accel wires
Beltronics Vector to measure my performance
Turbo Timer

Now I am looking at the FP Big T28 Upgrade from my T2small. Ported is 699
I am planning on porting my exhaust and o2 myself $0
Walbro 190lph $90

My question is what else should I get, I dont seem to have enough to get the injectors and fuel controller, so please give me some good advice on what else to buy or just save untill I have enough for the injectors etc.

Thanks
Ben

I sure wish I had bought DSMLink a long time ago. It's a lot to try and save up...so get it while you have the money and pray that you have an EPROM ecu. Even though I have a 95 I don't.
Once you get it you'll wonder how you ever went without it.

Just follow the upgrade path, get all the supporting mods out of the way and then go for the turbo. Buy a wideband. 2g's area pain in the ass to tune.
I say this from my own personnel experience, could have saved myself butt loads of money if I would have planned it out better.
Get your fuel system straight first for the goals you have and then go from there. Don't be like alot of other people on here and buy a upgrade turbo, slap it on there and wonder why it does'nt work.

Good luck with your project, and you never stated what your goals were?

Slowboy is running a special package deal. $589 for a S-AFC2 and 550s.
$90 for Walbro 190LPH like you said.

Now you've got $300-600 left. You can either get yourself an install kit and used 14B, or stretch and get a new 16G. Or just wait until you can afford an Evo3 or better.

Don't get a new turbo without the supporting fuel mods.

go with dsmlink, 560's out of an EVO VIII, and a walbro 190. that's the most economical solution. you could go the logger/afc route for tuning, but you will probably want more at some point and buying stuff twice sucks.
dsmlink- 615
evo 560's-50 (used)
walbro- 110
total- $775
that leaves enough for an evo III 16g if you do some shopping around.

I agree with this list but an evo iii for 525? i would love to see where you can buy an evo iii and be able to install it for 525

I just bought one and the total for everything is no where near 525

SBR has them for $569. so you're right he would be a little over. figure another $200 for an install kit and you're about $250 over (give or take).

Thanks for all of the good advice so far, but I do have a few questions.

1. I do have the eprom and I want a dsm link, the question is can I run 550's on a stock T25 with the dsm link. Can i turn them down enough so I dont run too rich.

2. Will I still need a wideband with the dsm link or does the dsm link offer an alternative.

3.So is this revised list better;

Dsm link $615
550's $200-300
Walbro $90
EGT $?? havent priced one yet
Used Laptop $200-300

Thats all my benjamins

And if I do get all this stuff should I hold off on the install of them untill i can get the money saved up for the turbo upgrade, except ofcourse the walbro and the EGT

Also as far as the turbo of choice I think I am going to give the FP BigT28 a try. It is very close to a big 16g bolts right up and is on sale right now if I send them my core. And if I want a bigger turbo I will just have to go with either a 50 trim or a FP3065

Good luck with your project, and you never stated what your goals were?[/QUOTE]

My goals are endless I just want to keep getting faster but if I must put a number to it I would like to be at least in the mid to low 12's and between 350-400 hp

Ok you can go the easy way. Go to a Get the front water pipe off a 1g, get the oil feed and return lines off a 1g get a plug out of a oil filter housing and pull out your t-25 feed line and put the plug in there. They are 6 point alen wrench hole in the plug. Get a bolt to plug the hole in the front of the block where the 2g water feed is. BAM There you go thats alot cheaper than a install kit but if you want to go Install kit way it cool.

Good Luck :thumb:

those are 510s not 560s edit: evo 3 are 510 i have no idea on evo 8

take everyones advice and do the fuel system first unless your turbos blown.

i would go dsmlink 600
atleast 660s around 300
walbro 255 120
afpr 150
then save for a turbo and ic. my choice for turbo is an evo 16g (i have found them for 525)if your looking for a t28. all you need is a j pipe to put it on. you can use what you have for the rest. but i would invest in a ss feed line.

you don't need a EGT gauge its a waste of $$. If you go with bigger injectors 500 are all you'll need with the t28. you may be able to get away without a AFC or DSM link. But then again if you are pushing 20+psi there no good.

Things to consider:
1. You need some way to tune i.e. DSMlink, or datalogger. But you can't go by just what the datalogger says because its so vague. A wideband will give you accuate A/F. (DL only good for timing and codes)
2. You will overheat the stock IC with the t28 or higher.
3. With a upgraded fuel pump you will easly over-run the stock FPR.
4. If you know you're going to upgrade later to a bigger turbo then get everything in place now for it.
5. Search EBAY for j pipes and other goodies to help you out.
6. One bad lean run on a turbo car and your motor is F'ed.
7. FP stated that they went mid 11's on the t28 on a 2g and i'm sure it was'nt without supporting mods. Call them up and ask what they suggest for your goals. Ask the experts not us.

1. Yes, one can install DSMLink at anytime for a GREAT alternative to piggyback tuning. DSMLink is pretty much the end-all to tuning, with few exceptions where people would want to run a full standalone (you won't be one of them, trust me). But absolutely you'll be able to tune into any new mod you get and then some.

2. The wideband helps a lot with tuning at a glance, but DSMLink reports what the ECU sees and you can't run a wideband signal directly into the ECU. The ECU still needs a narrowband O2 signal from the wideband controller. So with DSMLink you'll be tuning off of fuel trims anyway...so no the wideband isn't necessary, but it'll compliment it very well and makes tuning a breeze (consider it a future investment)..
