LOL crap, well DSMTuners limited how much text can go into each box, so it wont fit. i have 650cc injectors, a supra tt fuel pump and a spoolinup adjustable FPR. and a datalogger too.
 
screw it, ill just blow the 600$ on maintence because im unsure about the previous owners.
 
yep , got a indy race core-race fmic. LOL. ill just get every fluid done, timing belt, alt belt, every other belt, hoses, etc.

one question though, how hard is it to replace a timing belt, and what other parts are required? is there a specific tool i need to do this? is there a tutorial? i dont want a shop to steal 600 just for a timing belt when i can do it myself with a little help ;)

If you abbreviate (sp) and dont put dumb shit like "magnacore wires in red" that isnt really a mod just maintenance then you can fit it all in. Instead of putting Indy racecore with short route pipping, just put racecore.

Dale is right you should just do maintenance items, includign getting a new radiator, so that the car is running the best it can.

I picked up my HRC FMIC for 930 (with pipes, couplers, and everything) shipped to my doorstep in under a week. All I have to say is... (in the voice of the chef boyardee kid or whoever it was....) "MMMM BEEFY!!!"

You'd have some money left over that you could put towards a DP or repairs.

Ok guys heres what Im doing. I just ran into a few G's that I dont have to pay back until December, so im going to mod the gsx! Shes a 91... Anyways, since I live within a couple hours of RRE, I was going to drive there and have em fix me up and put in some toys! So I need a few opinions please...

Does anyone have any knowledge about the RRE complete 1g fmic kit?

It seems like a good idea, and probably good enough to cool my 16g. $800 sounds kinda high for an 18x6 IC, but i dont know much. If there is another good way to go please let me know! I was thinking a supra sidemount or even the Dejon Huge sidemount... Both would be cheaper and more sleeperish... Help me decide! :)

I also need to get an exhaust. I was pretty set on getting the RNR 02 eliminator turbo back, but RRE does have a decent set up also. Anyone have any opinions on RNR vs Apexi? RNR is cheaper too...

Should I just go with Powerslot rotors and metal master brake pads, or spend a couple hundred extra and go with the factor big brake upgrade which includes those? Anything for the rears?

Last thing im still pondering is ACT 2100 vs 2600. I plan on getting close to maxing out this 16g, so hopefully low 12's or so. Would a 2100 be good enough, or should I go with the beefy 2600? I was leaning toward 2600 but if anyone have any reasons not to...

Thats about it for now, any other tips would be great! My setup so far is just a GM MAFT with 3inch MAF, Blow Thru UIP, Dejon Intake, 16G turbo, and a built engine minus Cams. Thanks fellas...
 
$800 for an fmic is a good price. Alot of the larger core kits cost closer to 1k. It will matter how much cash you got though, sidemounts are easy to install, and labor would be cheap. FMIC install is not easy. Labor wouldn't be cheap.
 
I'm basically in the same boat as you, looking for low 12's on an evo 16g. This is the equip I've ordered so far: evo 16g, ported 2g exh mani, ported 2g o2 housing, 2.5" RNR SS turbo back, dejontool uicp w/blowby, 3" GM MAF w/T, 650cc FIC inj, 190lph fp, act 2600 clutch, and ummm... I think that's it?? I'm trying to decide on the intercooler now.

For brakes, I probably wouldn't bother with the big brake kit upgrade unless you autocross a lot. Just get some slotted/drilled rotors and good pads.

Definately get the 2600lb clutch, not a whole lot more and you'll be pushing quite a bit of power.

For the IC, the ones I'm choosing between are the dejontool street, dejontool big smic, and the rre fmic kit. Any of them would cool well enough for up to 400hp, fmic would look cooler hah but obstruct flow to radiator, all 3 use the smic piping location so as far as fmic installs go it'd be a lot easier since you wouldn't have to relocate or remove any components or cut holes in the rad support. Just maybe trim the bumper a bit.

For the exhaust... Man. I'd get the Apexi from ExtremePSI or something. I heard a lot of good stuff about RNR racing, so I ordered mine from there... In April. And I still haven't seen it yet. I hope the product is high quality, cuz the customer service sure isn't. I would have cancelled my order weeks ago but they have a friggin 35% cancellation fee or something crazy. So basically, the exhaust might be good, but don't expect the 2-3wk turn around time they advertise on their site. Expect 2-3 months. :p

Yea ok I decided on 2600, but im hoping 550cc injectors will be good enough for me. I could go with 660cc but they are more expensive... And ill throw out the big brake kit, rotors and pads should be fine as you said. So my last thing im stuck on is the IC. RREs looks ok, but it will be expensive to install, plus the LIP hangs down 1 inch under the bumper support. My dsm is only lowered 1inch but it already bottoms out enough going up my driveway, and i dont want to have to buy new LIP's every month! Im looking more into the dejon big sidemount... Supra sidemounts go for well over $100 nowadays, plus they would be used and who knows what to expect from shipping. Ill just say im going for the "sleeper" look! ;)

One last thing guys, I need a logger. A friend told me dsmlink finally made a 1g program, but their website says nothing about it. Digitaltuning is the only choice now? Any easy way to maybe get a setup used? I searched "dsm cable" on ebay as someone told me to but nothing came up. Gotta be able to tune all this stuff...

Here's the deal: I'm looking to spend about another $500 (tops) on performance parts b/c i'm a poor college student. My 95 tsi awd is stock except for k&n intake. I have a T28 sitting in my room, what should i/do i need to install b4 i can drop in my new turbo? I'm guessing the usual boost gauge, controller, etc. What else do i need and what will happen if i just install the new turbo with only these mods done: intake, boost controller, boost gauge?
 
man i cant afford shit too . also in same boat but i always have a little tution money left over haha. With new turbo hmmmm t28 , im wondering if a FP might help . I know with t25 you can just rewire but it might be better to get a 190FP and fuel shouldnt be a problem. 90.00. Also get a new BOV from a 1g 40-50.oo get from trader or junk yard. say up were to 150.00. then maybe upper IC pipes, that should be i think like 200.00. now 350.00. well after that i would say exhaust but you dont have enough .
 
I would get exhaust -(get it custom made at a muffler shop, much cheaper)
a 1g BOV from a junkyard (10 bucks or so)
a good boost guage and etv guage (150?)
MBC (75)
 
Boost gauge, FP rewire, exhaust, MBC.

That may go a little bit over 500, but it's really the minimum of what you need.
 
Hey all. I have a 95 GSX and I need some new shocks. I have H&R Sport springs and stock shocks right now. This was fine at first but after a few months my car bounces and rides like ass. So I need some shocks that will control the bounce yet still provide a decent ride. This is my daily and only car so no 1k+ exotic setups are wanted. I want to keep my springs and replace the shocks. So, like the title says, help me spend my money.
