The insulation behind the dash should I get rid of it ?

My friend just took the dash out of his street /strip talon and i was wondering if the black insolation along the fire wall is of anyuse? Should he go and just strip it off ?

personally i wouldnt it...just make it harder to keep warm expecially in jersey...

If he is trying to save all the weight he can, get rid of it. The only difference I noticed was more heat from the firewall due to the missing insulation.

I have never had any problems keeping warm even on sub 20* days. If anything, I get more noise and engine heat coming into the passenger compartment with the insulation gone.

Maybe 2.5-3lbs. I repeat

I found it more difficult to keep my feet from sweating. A lot of engine heat will come through the firewall without the insulation, along with noise (which I love to hear). Even with the insulation between the metal firewall layers.

3lbs. is 3lbs. if he is going for as light as possable.
