My car has a warped head and I want to know if it's worth repairing, or if I'm just beating a dead horse?:beatentodeath:
It's a 91' Eclipse GSX w/ 94k miles

look on the trader, im sure you can find someone with a 1g head for sale.

Just get ARP headstuds and a Cometic headgasket.
whole thing should only cost you 300-500 and about 6 hrs time total.
 
How bad is your head? If you havent already take it to a machine shop and see if they can level it for you. That would probubly be the same price as buying a used one. You can also try the local scrap yard. The 2.0 Head is the same wether its a Turbo or n/t its just the cams that are different. As to if you should keep it or not, thats totally up to you. No one can tell you to keep a car because they like it. With a DSM you have to be willing to put a little more time and elbow grease into them, but for those who do it pays off.
 
91 GSX with 94k miles? If it's in good shape - as it should be - I'd buy a head off someone and throw it on.

If you don't want to do that I'll buy the car for $1000 shipped :)

Thanks for the advise siceclipse, i think i'll try to fix it. i love the car, and its in great shape, so I really didn't want to have to get rid of it. So all I need to get is a head,APR headstuds, and a cosmetic headgasket right?
 
they all say "core required" and "Must have both cams, rockers and lifters" what does it mean by core, and can I use the cams, rockers, and lifters from the one i have?
 
A core, is your old head(in this case) to return to them afterwards, for a partial refund of the money. You could use the cams rockers and lifters from the one you have if you really want, but youd have to swap out the new ones in your old warped head before you shipped it back probably.
