Alright guys, bit of a backstory. this is a 1991 Galant GSX that has had an auto 1g drivetrain swap, built trans and some motor work. I flew 2800 miles to get it, and drove it home(Crazy, I know, But it made it!) and have had no issues with it outside of this really odd misfire issue! Its a misfire/stumble that starts at 4-4500 ONLY IN BOOST and it stumbles so bad that it wont really accelerate much WOT. if you partial throttle it, it free revs and accelerates under VAC just fine. Mods are as follows:

piston/rod 6 bolt block
BSD
comp 101200
ECMLINK v3(more on this later)
Ebay 20g/fmic
PTE 880's
2G MAF.

In ECMLINK, I set up deadtimes correctly, calibrated wideband, got idle fuel trims dialed in(+/- 2%), and have done some mafcomp work, but cant do a whole lot WOT comp due to stumbling. I've noticed when datalogging the misfire/stumble, actual wideband AFR seems fine, but boostEST /WBfactor and AFRest, and fuel flow go crazy(fuel flow goes to almost zero then back up again during the stumble) and MAF fluctuates widly. Checked MAF voltage going to the MAF at harness and have voltage, triple checked wiring and connections and everything checks out okay. The following parts have been changed/checked without the stumbling going away:

Fuel pump(255)
FPR(not stock, adjustable with a B&M gauge on filter banjo, 37psi at idle with vac disconnected, increases with boost)
Fuel filter changed
Injectors changed(originally had evo 560's, 880's made no difference in the stumble)
Changed ECU to another eeprom, transferred over my v3 eeprom. No change.
CAS changed
CAS Wiring Checked
MAF changed for another 2g unit.
MAF wiring checked.
TPS Tested great and has no dead spots.
Coil packs changed/Both sets checked
Power transisitor changed/ checked
Plug wires changed/checked resistance
Plugs changed to BR7ES@ .020, no difference.

Short WOT log is attatched. Notice the extreme spiking/fluctuation of WBfactor, but actual AFR is okay. Can someone give me any insight to this? Thanks!

On your fuel map, is it a smooth transition from part throttle to WOT? If it is a aggressive transition, it would cause the ecu fuel trims to spike. On Dsmlink fuelcut should not be possible, but I have an AEM. Now knowing that dsmlink doesn't have tuneable ignition/fuel cut settings, It really sounds like you are to rich or to lean. What I would do is make an adjustment to the fuel settings go leaner or richer(pick one) than run the car and see what happens, it should get better or worse. For ex. if you go richer first and it still stumbles than start leaning it out, and it should get better.

For starters, go here and create a profile for your car: http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/we...o-create-a-dsm-profile.499707/#post-153564173

As for the tune, Jesus...We've got some work to do. I'll just go through the ECU config tabs and list the issues I see. I'll just list the issue. If you need me to go in depth and explain how to fix each one, or explain my answer, let me know and I (or someone) can do so. For now, this will have to suffice since I don't have 4 hours to type all that out.

-TPS: is dicked up. The offset and scale are out of wack enough where you need to make a manual adjustment. Adjust the TPS.

-Launch limit: 7k? Nah, brah. I'd stick to around 4k max until we are ready to racecar.

-Fuel adjustment table: Zero it out. That's for preliminary tuning, not for long term adjustment.

-PTE 880s: Global should be -45 and deadtime around 420 ---> https://www.ecmtuning.com/wiki/baseinjectordata

-Timing adjustment table: Again, zero it out. That's for preliminary tuning, not for long term adjustment. Any adjustments made to these (timing and fuel adjustment tables) should ultimately be made permanently in the Direct Access tables. You only use these tables for on the fly adjustment, so you don't have to shut the car down every time you want to subtract/add some timing and/or fuel after a pull.

-MAF comp table: Based on what I've seen thus far, I'd zero this out and start from scratch. No adjustment was made in the upper RPM range anyways, which is where it really counts. Zero it, and start over after fixing everything else.

EGR Tab: You have your WB assigned to this pin, yet you have user defined settings enabled and defined. I don't know if this will screw things up on not, but I'd just uncheck both boxes because neither are needed.

Ok, moving on to Direct Access:

-OffIdleAirSmoothing: Your values are crazy low. I'd adjust them back to stock and see if that helps. Set all of the cells back to 89.1.

-InjBatteryAdj: Again, unless you have a spec sheet for your injectors or have modified this for a reason, set it back to stock:
7 2115
9 1155
12 840
14 645
16 555
19 450

-OLmaxoct table: Yours is set too rich. Lean it out to around 11.0:1

-TimingMaxOct: It's super conservative, but I'd leave it be until you can sort out the other 100 things on the list. Once those are fixed, we can do some pulls and revisit timing.

Questions for you:

-Have you done a boost leak test?

-What fuel is the car on?

-What wideband do you have?

-How much boost are you running?

-Fuel pump been rewired?

-This is an auto trans car, correct?

-Lastly, read here, answer the questions and paste them into this thread since you're unable to post in the tuning forum.

That's like a weeks worth of work in forum time. Good luck. Let us know if you need assistance.

Car is boost leak tested to 30psi as I said earlier, I have the spec sheet for the injectors and that is what I put in.APSX D2 wideband is correctly calibrated in ECMLINK,launch limit was set high in case it was a speed sensor issue to no avail. 93 pump gas.auto car yes, and pump was rewired

Sorry, missed the BLT post. Leave the injbatteryadj alone if its set to a spec sheet.

All of the other suggestions I'd still do.

Do you have a shift box or some means of locking the car in 3rd gear?

How much boost are you running?

Car is on wastegate(9 psi). I don't have a shift box but I can lock it in 2nd, it's less than ideal but it's better than nothing I suppose. Also I spoke to the PO, he said the car was fine then parked for a month and started doing the hesitation. That wouldn't make much sense though..

You should just bring the car by my place one day. That'd be 1000 times easier than me trying to walk you through every step here. Hanover is pretty close to me. I work on Ft Meade, and live right across the Bay Bridge from Annapolis.

If this wasn't a Galant, I typically wouldn't offer ;)

Shoot me a PM if you want.
