OK, I did a little search and didn't come up with much of anything.

I'll be replacing my clutch this winter and I was originally just going to replace it with another ACT. But then I stumbled across the Fidanza clutches.

I'm not sure who is manufacturing them, but they look well built. They have four different kits available for us DSMers:

2.1 - Carbon Kevlar disc
3.2 - Kevlar disc
4.3 - Ceramic disc
5.4 - Sintered iron disc

From what I gathered, each kit uses the same 2300 pressure plate and each one uses a more aggressive friction material to gain more holding capacity. This is a much more efficient method than simply increasing the clamping force of the pressure plate.

These are very affordable, and I have them in stock here, so I'm really considering running the 4.3. If anyone has any input on the Fidanza clutches, or if you've been running one and have an opinion on it, please post in here.

Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure they aren't manufactured in-house. If I remember correctly, my Fidanza rep told me that they design and test them in house, but only oversee manufacturing, so I don't really know who's making them.

One of Fidanza's salesmen (can't remember his name right now) is running a 4.3 in his EVO8 at over 450+ WHP and hasn't had any issues.

Clutch and Flywheel are on! Should be in the car in a few days!!

I have the fidanza 4.3 on my car... I've only driven about 400 miles on it so far, but the predal pressure its awesome! So far, im pleased, but, we will see how it holds up when i up the boost and really start to play!

I stumbled upon these clutch kits while searching for a new clutch for my 1g tsi AWD that is mainly my DD and i'm not going to get over 300-350lbs of torque.
I watched the video from fidanza about the different disc set ups but I am leaning toward the kevlar 4 puck. In the video they say the 4 puck with the kevlar is streetable and there's no issue of ever glazing it.The vid says it has the marcel but the item desciption for purchasing it says it does not, any comment? I'm wanting to try to just use the stock flywheel with this package, any suggestions or comments? Thanks in advance

I have the Fidanza 3.2 in my car, with a Fidanza aluminum flywheel. I LOVE it. The engagement is as smooth as stock, there's NO heavy pedal feel, it doesn't chatter, and it seems to grab very strongly. I haven't launched it yet, but I'm fairly confident that it'll slip MUCH less than the stock one.

I don't have any experience with any other clutches, but for a daily driver, I can't imagine anything can beating the Fidanza.

I got the 3.2 and the fidanza flywheel also. I love it. Feels strong. When you dump it in seccond, feels like your tranny hit a brick wall. Mine did chatter a little for the first 1k miles or so, but its pretty much gone away now, and that might have been me not being use to releasing the clutch at a higher rpm.

Does anyone have a Fidanza clutch that has some mileage on it? Everyone seems to have one sitting in their room, just installing it, or hasn't broken it in fully. That's not very good feedback when ya need to know how well it holds up at the track.

Not sure how much longer my Act2100 will be holding up and looking into clutches. I had a Spec 3+ in my awd Talon and loved it but these Fidanza clutches seem pretty cheap and that 4 puck disc looks pretty light. And not having to worry about glazing a clutch is always nice. Someone please post some long term feedback if you have it please.

Well my car is up and running. I only have about 250 miles on it. I will say my 4:3 has a bit of chatter and is a bit sensitive. I am getting used to driving with it. Pedal pressure is good and from what I can tell it holds well. I will give you an update after the next tank of gas.

Ive had my Fidanza 4.3 installed for about 1700 miles so far. I love this thing. It is very sensitive like ^^ said and take-offs from a stop were a bi*** when I first started driving on it. Launching it at low rpms is very smooth as the sprung disk has a little give but like I said, if it's not perfect, it'll chatter like crazy. High rpm launches get a little rough and to this day I have not been able to do it perfectly. The car I have it in is FWD and I get a lot of chatter, wheel hop, spinning and smoke. Sometimes I wish I would have gone with the spec 2+ but then I take a ride in my car and beat the crap out of it and realize Ive got a ceramic puck style disk in a FWD daily driver for a reason: to take as much power as possible without batting an eyelash. And it's done just that.

I read your post but why didn't you go with something like the 3.2 if you're fwd? I'm sure that thing would hold plenty of power and then you wouldn't have to worry about chattering so much. Heck, I have a 2100 right now and running 7.7's in the 1/8th no problem. I'm sure a 3.2 would be more than enough for a fwd.

Just to throw another data point in--I've got about 150-200 miles on my 4.3 as well. The pedal pressure, as everyone else said, is phenomenally light. The chatter isn't horrendous by any means, especially after everything is warmed up. My kit also came with an OEM throwout bearing, which was a nice surprise.

Yours came with an OEM throwout? I thought those were plastic sleeved? The one I got with my kit was metal sleeved. Oh well. Ive had enough practice with this clutch concerning around-town driving that I could fool you in thinking I have a stock clutch in it. When I was shopping for a clutch, I picked a clutch that would handle my horsepower goals and went one step up from that so I could have a little breathing room. Also, I was wrong on the mileage, I have exactly 1956 miles on it so far.

One other thing to mention, if the clutch ever fails, Fidanza will go out of their way to resolve the issue. When the spec in my N/T failed, I called the company and they pretty much told me I was SOL.

That's good to know about their warranty practices! I found it odd that I got an OEM TOB as well, but hell it saved me a few bucks.

Hey guys I just asked fidanza how long I should break the clutch in and I got this

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend about 50-75 miles of city driving for the 2.1 material to seat properly. Thank you for your support, enjoy.
I have already put 160 on the clutch. Before I do a wot (10psi) pull I need to know if this would be safe
thanks

Well by the amount of miles they recommend for break-in and the miles you state that you've put on the car, yes it should be safe.

Where did ya see 500 miles was recommended? Lol. And if you thought it was 500 miles, why did you bother to ask them? Regardless, different clutch manufacturers have different recommendations for their brand. And there's a lot of different materials that seat differently and in a different amount of time. If they say 75-100 miles, well, go with that. If Act says 500 miles, I'd stick with 500 miles. If you feel better about waiting then it's not gonna hurt anything to wait longer. That's up to you. If it makes ya feel any better, maybe gradually get into it to see how it holds. But I wouldn't go beating it to death. That's just me though.

I was gas happy:) I couldnt wait 500miles. I asked a couple of close bodies and got 500
Naw Im not going to get to crazy.

That's the "usual" mileage on a clutch. Something such as a stock clutch or Act is usually around 500. Guess Fidanza is different. Good luck with it.
