If you get to where your axles are starting to give you problems, (I imagine they might when you start playing with more boost out of the hole) I know of a place in my town that does some good work with custom CV axles if the DSS options are too $$$.
 
Car does have alot more left in it, we were unable to turn the boost up any more due to the weak wastegate spring. So with a new spring in place, more tweaking, and we are going to be switching over to vp import fuel from vp c16, we will beable to get more agressive with the timing and boost.

In the mean time I am also going to be taking more weight out of this heavy pig. I'm not complaing at all considering this was the 1st time down the track with all the new stuff done, right out of the gate on the very 1st pass I got my best pass ever. The car is only going to get quicker and quicker. We hope for 160mph traps within the next couple of months. I also plan on jetting the nitrous upto 150shot from the 100shot, that should help out of the hole as well.
The next time I am running the talon is towards the end of this month on april 21st. By then I hope to have the 2step settings sorted out, vp import fuel, and the 150shot jets for the direct port.:)

That VP Import gas should work very well for you, its 120 + octane. But very expensive at around 100 bucks per 5 gallons. YIKES!

I'm paying $80 for 5 gallon pale of c16, so I figure hell, if I'm paying this much I might as well pay an extra $20 and get the good stuff;)

That is complete insanity that they are charging that much for c16 now. I remember when it was like 5.00 a gallon.WTF

I am happy that you bounced back quickly from the transfer case failure.

What kind of tire pressures are you running? I am assuming that you are running 26"x9.5"x16" QTP's (I thought that was what Jake told me), as that is what I am running.

Currently, my tires are around 11-12, but their sidewalls are so darn soft that it looks like a wrinkle wall at that pressure. Should I put them up to at least 17-20 psi initially to see how they react?

On those passes I ran 19psi front and 18psi rear. When I broke the T-case I was at 17front and 15 rear, the rear would wrinkle like none other with them that low.

With the tires at 19front and 18rear it hooked pretty decently. Top of 2nd gear (9000-9800rpm) they would start to spin like no ones business LOL. 3rd gear it hooked good.

I am quite happy that I got rained out in the line at opening day, and didn't do a pass at 12/11psi tire pressures == that would have been bad!

Hopefully I will be able to get into the 9's with my current setup this year.
 
How long is the nitrous actually activated during the pass?


The nitrous is only on for .3 tenths of a second in each gear, the nitrous shuts off at 33lbs. Infact when I bang 4th gear it doesn't even come on the turbo is that responsive between the 3/4 shift.;)
 
HAHA! I know it man, I was so worried about breaking the t-case like I did last weekend, my foot just wouldn't let me do it yesterday, the last pass I full throttle launched it and it still boged pretty bad. Still got some tweaking to do...:thumb:

Why don't you get the T-case upgrade from the drive shaft shop?

Damm!!!! Here in San Antonio, it's about $12 to $13 a gallon.

I saw your runs that day and your car is AMAZING! It was cool when you were in the same group going against funny cars and motors that are more than twice the size. By the way, I like how you have bodyguards around your car...pretty cool :)

Sure go ahead and post the vid, I would love to see it. As far the the "bodyguards" LOL thats my team.
