Thats awesome man. How did you do that? Just cut it larger and push it through? Oh and did you find out the name of those bulbs yet? If not thats cool, I'll just see them when they get here.

Nice...I've had mine in the same spot for a while...2G though.
With the 2nd Gens, it's a bit easier, just cut a hole slightly SMALLER than the backside of the gauge and boom, that's the hard part.....plus, I used to have that a/f gauge installed on my a-pillar pod...it really helps that I moved it...it was bright as F U C K at night.

Time for a dance party, now that you've got the lights for it!

Just took her out for a spin, looks kinda neat, but i dunno how to read it, 1 bar then like 6 bars, no bars 7 bars fluctuates alot. i put it there cuz i wanted it to look sleek. so no one would think oh thats nice lets break out the window and steal it. When off its a black screen, and to most I'd think they wouldnt know what it is. i didnt want it in a pillar for 2 reason, 1. Everyone can see it and possibly steal it, 2. As stated above i dont want it blinding me at night All in all i think its worth the $35 and 3 hours of time to install.

I oknow everyone says A/F gauges are useless, but I got it to see if my new O2 had burned out onme. Somehow The red wire on the engine harness side of the O2 had broken apart and i have been running Hella Rich i soldered it back togeather and just installed the gauge so i guess the o2 is working properly, pulled the plugs and the carbon buildup is burning off.

Input?

Actuly once you are used to seeing how the guage reacts when your car is runing well you can normly tell when something has changed in the engine if the guage starts reading off from what it normaly does at WOT.

BTW, what is the correct way to tap the O2 sensor wire? I know your not suposed to use a vampire clip.. but umm i did....:shhh: and cut some wires in the process.. (and I dont have the $100 for a new O2 sensor)

so for future notice whats the best way?

it does seem kinda hard to read.. but I like the placement.. nice and clean too:thumb:

on my car i tapped into the diagnostic O2 sensor port. under the passenger consol thingy. i had to use a spade connector to plug into it cuz its so dang far up in there i couldnt pull it down and solder it togeather. That is my only weak connection hopefully it dont come apart.

I got the A/F gauge to see if my O2 Sensor was working! No its not in the line of sight while driving but, how hard is it to look down at the console and watcha the thing freakin out LOL

While accelerating like a bat outta hell or doing 80+ mph?

aovsi - Ok I dunno what your impying

After my car warms up the thing starts cycleing freaking out, I dont really have a need for it anymore, but since I cut a hole in my painted console and my cig. lighter didnt work anyway, I guess its kinda a show off mod. I dunno whats normal, but I guess since its jumpin bars up and down its working as it should be.

I didn't know where to post this up, and I wanted to show off my work

After a lot of searching through pictures and trying to see if anyone put there gauges in the arm rest I couldn't find any. Well, yesterday I was bored and I just ordered a new oil pressure gauge so I needed another space. My buddy who works at tweeter (car audio install) helped me out with it. Pretty clean if you ask me. It's also well hidden for the sleeper look and to keep it away from potential theifs. It houses my EGT, A/F, SAFC II, and the switch to my IC sprayer.

looks good. you did a great job man, wish i had that patience.

and so yuo know check under the newbie forum, nad the interor/exterio non performance mods section is where this would have gone :thumb:

but great work man!

Thanks for the compliments. It took a lot of test fitting, but I think it turned out pretty damn good.

Good to keep that pesky A/F gauge out of your line-of-sight. You might want to remove the glass from the boost gauge so you can use it while driving, through Braille.

Don't try to sell on here other than in the Classifieds if you're not a vendor.

its a nice concept, but I dont see no way that will help you with tuning. The egt has to be in plain sight, youre not oignt o be staring at your open armrest area when you hit wot. that afc is looking like such a pain to get to if youre tuning your car. unless you can remove it. that a/f gage though deserves to be locked away where you cant see it.

Your intentions are good, but come on. Dont tell me that while you were making that, not one time did you say to yourself, "self, I'm going to need to be able to read these guages, so how can I position them to be most easily read without interferring with the need to keep my eyes on the road." Not only are they the furthest they could be from line of sight, you physically have to turn your head and body to focus on them, not to mention move your arm which is occupying the shifter.

Now if you moved your HVAC controllers into that position, and used their space for those guages, now we're getting somewhere  . But like I said, your head is in the right place, its just that this time your ass already had it occupied. ;)

Brew :talon:

Very clean, nicely done. :thumb:

One thing that I should say though, is that gauges are kinda pointless if you can't monitor them. Other than that, looks great! Just curious but how did you get that crinkle effect? What type of paint did you use? What material did you use and how did you make the holes so damned clean??!!

It's probably the texture of the plastic. It also cuts very cleanly, if it's the sort I'm thinking of. Check the hobby stores and plastic supply shops.

my friend Amazin' Wasian wanted me to post this for him, this was his first time using fiberglass.... All comments are welcomed, what do ya think?

Hey thanks a lot for posting that for me....
This was my first time ever using fiberglass but I think I did a damn good job, I coulda done a little better job sanding but it turned out great.....I ended up not using the cobalt gauge in the picture, I decided to go with a mechanical boost gauge instead....btw, I plan on making a gauge cluster in the glove compartment sometime in the near future.
