Well I finally decided before I go all out crazy on my motor that it would be better for me to just to do a 16g setup till I get my paint and everything done first. I have a few questions though I am in the process of getting an eprom ecu,and dsmlink. In few weeks I will also be getting an evo3 16g. I already have a 3" downpipe, apexi n1 muffler, dumped
o2 housing, and hard uicp. My question is this how much will the stock side mount hold me back, and also should i go with 550s or 650s becuase most of these parts will go away once I get everything for my 2.3l gt35r setup next year.

if you are getting dsm link i would get bigger injectors now for your 2.3 set up that way you dont have spend more money on getting another set of injectors

As stated above, if you are getting dsmlink now, then get the larger injectors because dsmlink provides total control of the injectors. But if you are using an afc, or some other temporary ems, id say that the 550's would do well with the 16g.

I was looking at running at least 1000cc injectors later I figured they would be way to big for a 16g. My main thing is I would like the car to dip into the 12s so I was curious if the stock side mount would hold me back, that why i was wondering could I use 650s to compensate for now.

Ya i know the side mount mount will hold me back but i'm tryin to be cheap right now I was just wondering if the 650s with extra fuel would help me avoid knock, and intercooler heatsoak.

There is no injector too big unless you cannot control it properly. DSMLink allows one to control up to 1600cc injectors easily. If you can tell the ecu that you have 1000cc injectors then it will know how much fuel to inject no matter what turbo you're running.

Dumping fuel to compensate for a poor performing intercooler will only lead to problems. Note that some have still gotten a stock sidemount into the 12s. This suggests that duming fuel is not neccesary for a stock sidemount if you adhere to some proven suggestions. I suggest spraying the intercooler w/ a water (from a spray bottle) after every run and/or running water injection. But the latter costs cash. Spraying the intercooler should assist in heat soak.

Run a tank of race gas on track day where you want to run over 16 psi on pump gas and you should control your knock and still have good timing and fuel curves. Shoot for high timing and a lean run; not so much boost. I'd play w/ around 20 psi and race gas. Get the best timing and fuel curve you can w/ that and keep the intercooler as cool as possible (waiting on runs and spraying it down). Get good at launching and the 1-2 shift.

None of this is a go w/out upgrading your fuel pump. You'll also have to upgrade that for your gt35R anyway. So you'll have to get dsmlink, huge injectors, fuel pump adjustable fuel pressure regulator (for FPR overrun prevention) for this big turbo. Why not wait? An evo3 16G costs as much as the AFPR, pump, AND injectors!

A stock 14B and fuel, good logging, and good driving have gotten a few in the 12s.

Hot intercoolers and OEM head gaskets/bolts don't mix.
