When I'm driving my car the fuel temp is normal but when I put it in neutral and let the car idle the temp spikes. Any ideas as to why this is happening? today, just sitting in a lot, the temp went over 2000.

huh  fuel temp  2000 degrees :confused:

I'm guessing you are talking about coolant temp and meant to type 200. 200 degrees is okay ;)

this is what i get for telling my friend to post this and not doing it myself. Lets try again. my engine temp gauge, not fuel temp i have no idea why he said that? spikes when I idle. i can let it sit and it will go over 200 degrees, not 2000 haha. Usually when im running it it hardly goes above 160. I doubt that theres anything wrong with the sensor. So any ideas on to why my engine temp is spiking while idling? And dont worry hes getting a good smack for being an idiot.

Its simple.... no air flow over the radiator at idle. It will happen on any car, turbo or non-turbo

As long as your cooling system is in good working order, 200* is nothing to get excited about.

Drive the car!

If the fans cycle on and off like they should all is fine.

A cold block, a temp under op temp, will have more wear than an op temp block.

Ok now I understand hahaha! If you run your defrost or heater with your a/c button fully pressed the a/c fan will always stay kicked on. it lowers the temp at idle a bit. really your are all good though man. I have to do that in my Talon during the summer because of hot start issues
