temp gage is not going up past quarter way

i did a water pump, and t belt, and all that good stuff, and now my temp is always really low. my car never gets to operating temp. it was at almost halfway all the time b4 i did the pump, any good ideas ??

Are you using the stock or aftermarket gauge? Did you do the tstat? If so what degree did you put in it?

Did you replace the thermostat? Check it to see if it is stuck.

every thing is stock when it comes to the temp and tstat

when im on the freeway it really runs cool like 22%, and around town it runs like 29%

An engine running when its not up to temperature will see worse gas mileage (run rich) and increase engine wear.

sounds to me like thermostat is stuck open, which would constantly push coolant through and cause temp to stay low. also when you refilled coolant what was the ratio you mixed it, it should be 50/50.

Have you repalced the coolant and temperature senosr/gauge. All with the Tstat, water pump and t Belt.

Are you getting any pressure in your upper hose? If not replace the radiator cap..
Only 3 things it could be
Thermastat
cap
sensor for gauge
All those are real cheap and very easy to replace. If the car has the original parts above I would replace them anyway because of age

my cap is bad, wow thanks
