Fuel gauge not going all the way up?

I put in a walbro 190 and after that my fuel gauge doesnt go above half when filling up. Anyone have any ideas why? I know for sure i put the pump in the correct way because the connector for the pump is facing the same way.

yea i had this problem. if you were having no problem before and now there is since you put the pump, its because of the orientation of the sensor in the tank for the gauge. get back in there and line it up properly and needle should go all the way up. I believe it's the float isnt it? when it's not positioned right it will not extend all the way when you fill up and stop wherever it is being blocked in the tank and of course relay back to the cluster and show only half.

just make sure you dont try and adjusting it right now with a full tank of gas, you pull the pump and youll have gas spilling back there and it will smell for a bit.

you probably bent the float arm or need a new one

I had this same problem too, not really sure what caused it as I pulled it out & found nothing wrong, put it back making sure the float wasnt going to catch on anything.. and everything worked fine after that
