My car is not heating up enough, does that mean that coolant is not flowing through? I have my fans wired and leave them on all the time. They keep the temperature gauge down but the rest of the engine is completely heat soaked. Is that just more heat from the turbo or can I wire a switch to have the water pump on all the time.

I don't know about the water pump turning on and off, or even if is does turn off. Someone explain this to me. Thanks.

I removed my thermostat, so now, I stay just below or just above the first tick mark on the water temperature gauge. So either you have no thermostat, or as almost everyone is saying... failed thermostat.

Boostin, enjoy never leaving the ECU warmup mode.
As for the OP, when you replaced your thermostat, did you put it in right-side-up? I've seen a few who did their own, but put the thermostat in upside down, as they weren't paying any attention when they took the old one off. Needless to say... it didn't work right.

If I turn off my fans, the car overheats but the coolant is flowing.

Again, I'm thinking temp. sensor. That's what tells your fans when to come on. If you are haveing to manualling turn them on before they would normally kick on themselves then, to me, that's a temp sensor problem. I'm sure that your car doesn't over heat within 60 sec. of you turning it on. It's most likely when your car gets up and running that the problem occurs. I can tell you the oem sensor turns the fans on at right about 210*. If your sensor is faulty then it could be possibly trying to turn your fans on at a higher temp.

**NOTE** - The temp sensor and the temp sending unit are 2 different things.

Oh yea, Boostin - You do realize that with no T-stat your in constant Open Loop mode, right?
