Hi all,

Im considering getting a set of TEIN SuperStreet Dampers (not a daily driver - Autocross/Rallycross use only). Im on a tight budget but my current "hommade" setup is just not cutting it anymore. Do superstreets come with camber adjustable uper pillow mounts? Anybody with any sugestions / experience? Is it an overkill ?
Im also considering a set of D2 SportRS 's.

Thanks

Peter

Im sure you have already done this but check out www.tein.com there is a lot of helpful information about each of the Tein Products. To my knowledge you can get them either way. Its an extra $150 or so to get the upper pillow mounts for a 2G.

Hope that helps!

I've got the Tein SS w/upper pillowball mounts & love them. :thumb: The adjustability is great, especially with the EDFC (probably wouldn't need that for an autocross-only car), & they go from stupid-stiff to daily-driver comfortable. IIRC, for the 1G's they only come with the mounts (check the website to verify this). The camber is adjustable, but when I took it to the alignment shop they were unable to get it to within factory specs - I'm still roughly -1.5* out of spec in the rear. This might not be an issue for you if you're planning only autocross/rallycross - as I understand more negative rear camber is desirable for handling during these events. As for whether or not it's overkill, I guess that depends on your budget & your goals.

I have to agree, I got D2's as well and they are very nice for the price. The only way I'd get super streets is if I could get the EDFC.
Also from my understanding the Tein SS do not come w/ upper pillow ball mounts, they are extra. And if you need those to install the EDFC or else the hood will not close.

This is what I've gathered from my searching. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

enjoy d2 all the way i had d2 racing suspension and it was awsome but currently sold most opf my stuff on my car, just had a kid

I got TEIN SUPER STREET, and man, you can really tell TEIN put some quality work into them. Unlike most coils, you can see they are larger on the top and smaller on the bottom like a real suspension. They ride quality is just amazing. I have mine at probably Level 10 at the front and 8 in the rear and the ride is perfect. You can adjust it like stock ride quality if you wish to. The car doesn't bounce or put shock waves through your spine when going over bumps. Once you go TEIN you will always be like, man why didn't do get these before.

Please expand on the EDFC - is that the gadget that allows adjustement from the inside of the car? It sounds saucy LOL.... I autoX on a really rough bumpy track and having an ability to easily and quickly tweak things up would be highly desirable

Yes, the EDFC is the little computer you mount inside the cabin that allows you to change the suspension settings (I think it's Electronic Damping Force Controller). The unit allows for 3 preset suspension set-ups. :thumb: Adds an extra $250-$300 to the whole set-up.
