I have three Autometer Cobalt gauges (Boost, EGT, Fuel Pressure).

Can I safely run the power to all three gauges (constant power/ground/lighting) from the same wires that lead to the lighter and it's bulb (I never smoke so its not used) using vampire taps?

I had my cig lighter powering my greddy profec, TT, lights for my boost guage and amp turn on wire..... its all fine but if I plug in a power inverter too the fuse blows. I already moved the boost guage onto the dimmer switch (and now it dims with the lights, yay).... but all 3 guages could be alot of draw for that circuit. Either way I plan to put a relay on the cig lighter so I can finally log without running on battery power.

if the draw is to high, just use a relay, the source your using can go to the coil to switch the contacter inside for the high current draw stuff, but then again you need to run a thicker wire directly to the battery, I have a 8G to the pump and a 10G going under the dash, and just used a covered terminal strip to distribute power to the various things. Prof B, 3 PHW greddy gauges, Relays for the MSD burnout rev control, ect. Everything looks nice under there, even more so after looking under the dash at alot of friends cars, it hurts to think why some guy wanted neon alover the inside of his GSX before my friend bought it.
