Here goes my first blog:

I bought this 95' talon last year and it has the worst paint on it so I decided to fix this problem and well as many of the other problems caused by the previous owners.

I'll be brief. It had some holes in the hatch where a high rise wing was wood screwed in (yes, wood screwed). I filled those. I also shaves the rear wiper and the antenna while I was at it. I'll also be getting rid of the rear squirter.

It will also be getting black oem 2gb lights and font bumper. I'm going with a really nice blue. The pictures dont match with what the paint actually looks like in person.

Any advice on painting these cars in particular is welcome. This is my fist paint job. Enjoy the upcoming developments.

Good luck! I've really been wanting to paint my car myself and have been constantly thinking about it. I'll be following closely.

same here and i'm just worried that my garage will be covered with paint clouds. LOL

Go to home depot and buy some plastic and line your garage. Its cheap.

Dark Cloisonne Poly... I cant remember the 4 digit number off hand... its a GM paint color.

sick color, agreeing with 92awdtalontsi, that is indeed a massive FMIC hahah

I'm liking that blue. What is the color name and who is the paint by? Looks like the color I have on my vavle cover.

Will you keep adding updates with the various painting stages that you move through so I can get an idea of the process?

Looks like there isn't much body work to do on that car, so it shouldn't be too bad. But, it looks like you're doing a metallic color, so thats a bit tougher than just a straight base color. I just finished painting my car, it took three weeks and about 160-180 hours of work from disassembly to being back on the road. When my friend and I did mine we did it in two halves first the lower half: rear bumper, quarter panels, and doors. We decided to leave the rear bumper on the car because we were afraid of breaking all the bolts. Then we did all the trim pieces: skirts, front bumper, mirrors, door handles, taillight centerpiece, fuel door, and door moldings. Lastly we did the roof, hatch jam, and the hatch. Although we painted my car black, which is impossible to not be able to match, so since you're doing a metallic blue, I'm not sure if you can do it in two halves like that, you probably would have to do the roof and hatch with the rest of the car. Everything is pretty straightforward to remove except the belt moldings, they are a pain to get off and you might bend one or both, so be careful there. We wrecked my drivers side one getting it off. You have your work cut out for you. Good luck, hopefully it turns out good!

Please do keep us updated on the preparation and painting procedures because I really want to shoot my car myself.
