Like I said I'm taking it apart. I have to fix the speed sensor gear inside the tranny. Not the speed sensor gear. But the one in the tranny going to the speed sensor gear. And I have never messed with a tranny before. But it seems pretty easy. What I'm having trouble with is looking for a break down of the transmission in my 2G NT Eclipse. If someone knows of one, that would be great. Thanks

I have a copy of the F5MC1 transmission service manual, as well here is a link to one for you. http://www.lilevo.com/mirage/Manuals/FWD Manual Transmission F5MC1 PWEE8902-ABCD W-E 22D.pdf

It is as simple as removing the transmission from the car after draining it, then placing it with the bellhousing-side up and removing all the bolts attaching the bellhousing to the transmission, then using two prybars and gently seperating the bellhousing from the transmission cluster case section. The front differential will be right on top. Pull it out.

If you are having speedo gear issues on the front diff, you will need a new front differential as it is very likely that you crapped your spider gears or cross-shaft causing damage to the case itself.
