Thinking about converting tail light center piece to a light as well, so it looks like one long continuous light at night with no space between. Don't know if this is possible, the center piece may be too thick, haven't taken apart the rear panels yet to look at it. Wanted to know if anyone has attempted this before or if it is possible. The wiring shouldn't be a problem, tap 3 new lights into existing ones. Mounting would be an issue. Also, depending on the thickness of the center piece, I want to ensure that the lights will be as bright as the others to match up. Gimme some feedback peeps!

The center section of the eclipse has a silver painting on it. I tried to remove the stuff one time and it was such a pain that I just gave up. Once you remove this paint I think your biggest difficulty would be installing the actual bulbs themselves. The light itself isn't very deep and if you had bulbs and sockets they would protrude into the back "shell" that the light mounts up to. There is also no reflective metal in the light itself (the stuff that reflects the light toward the lens) so you would need to make that, and finally I would be worried about how the light would dissapate through the lens 1) if you would see distinct areas where the bulbs were and 2) if the light would even propagate out of the lens. I am more worried about 2 because the lens is created to reflect light out (much like the small square on the back of the regular taillights, and if you notice that square really dosn't light up well. I don't know, give it a try and tell us how it goes.
