I am looking for a daily driver turbo that i can have fun with, but not really for racing...

Currently i have or have on order

K&NIntake
Pipe UG and Greddy S
Free mods
Boost gauge
RSR Exhaust (on order)
190Lph Fuel pump
MBC

Do you reccommend the T28 yet?
I am ready to order one!

Any suggestions i was thinking the Forced performance Fpbig28
Its on sale anyways....

If the RSR is a turbo back, take the turbo. If not, I think the downpipe and highflow cat / test pipe should come first. After that top it off with some porting, an AFC, 550 injectors and really have some fun. I think we are looking to run the same set up, but I still need the 190 pump and injectors. I got my T-28 from SBR 2 months ago. Your going to love it.

The RSR is cat back, i am also ordering the RSR Downpipe too. Do i really need a hi-flow cat? Is that a huge restriction? Also, i am open to other suggestions to a T28, I want to order it this week. SBR t28? I just want to make sure i still get the fast spool up. 100% of my driving is casual street. At first i was considering a normal T28 from turbocharges.com..

Im soo excited!@

Ohh, i saw the Slowboy T28!! $799 ported NICE!
Is that what you got?

Looks like i may be looking at that one now!

Get the exhaust on and then you will be ready.
While your turbo is dropped you will also want to port the hell out of that o2 housing you got if you didnt get an 02 elim downpipe. I got a forced performance t28 but not to steer you away from that turbo but since you are FWD then have you honestly considered a little slower spooling turbo that way you can get traction at lower (off the line) just a couple more seconds? 2g20g that SBR has is supposed to be a good upgrade but I bought my bigt28 and I love it also. Definately a nice turbo.

Also to answer your other question a highflow cat shouldn't restrict you much at all because a high flow is almost straight hollow anyways.

stick with FP or another good vendor. bashing of vendors is not permitted but I can say, I DO NOT recommend TC.com. With a upgraded DP and cat back the stock cat will not bolt up, so either a hi flow or testpipe will be needed. injectors/ fuel managment is required when uping the boost. I love my FP BT28, it gets even better with a FMIC. people laugh when I pop my hood and they see this little turbo but then I ask why are you laughing when I just beat you? they shut up.

With a manual boost controller you will get a bit of a spike on this little turbo. It took a prof B, and the FP 17 PSI actuator to get rid of most of my boost spike issues. with a FWD and this turbo, traction sucks. 1st is a joke, and 2nd can be a handfull, and gets even worse with wet weather. Watch out for wheel hop, filling the stock motor mounts or upgrading to the prothnanes is highly recommended.

but I am sure you will have results similar to mine with the T28. The upgraded turbo was the biggest butt-dyno power adder so far, 2nd was the FMIC and 3rd was the downpipe/testpipe. however I did them in the order DP, the turbo, then FMIC

I have also seen a 100% stock 98 GST in utah just add a BT28 and MBC and kick ass, people crap when they see the stock ICP and airbox and exhaust. but this thing is a sleeper. I think he needs some fuel mods, but he is content at 12 psi. and wouldnt let me log it to see what was going on. his Boost gauge is only in the car when he changes the boost. so the interior even looks stock, I think its dangerous but it is his car. I would stick to the upgrade path since it is the easiest, most RELIABLE way to go fast. but you seem to be on the right path. ENJOY

Spool up,

Yea thats awesome! I also am trying to keep my car as stock looking as possible. I really loved my days of a totally sooped up car, but now alas i am older and i need to take clients out to lunch and i want my car to have the nice clean, quiet stock appearance, but i also want to eat some stangs for lunch too.

I guess im gonna go with the FPBIG, cant beat the price now!

I really just want to get the cat-back on, then turbo...

P.s. I have automatic too, so is that gonna make a differnece in which turbo to get?

All my last DSM's were Stick, but i sit in traffic 3/4 of my day. I definelty am happy with my automatic though, my calf was killing me after i got home from work!

I dont really know the limitations of the AT DSM. but here is a slip from a friends small 16G power nitrous fed (50 shot) FWD auto

44 12.817 111.22 8.390 88.09 2.099 91 Talon TSi AUTO small 16g YES Geoff Lissaman

He also takes clients out to lunch, but bought a beemer since they had a hard time getting in the back of the talon  .

But the BT28 is a great turbo. I would also do a downpipe, test/cat aswell since that piece yeilded a power gain. and since it is turbo it does not sound like a fart can honda.

a few looks at dsmtimes.org shows these t28 powered FWD.
