This turbo came out a few months ago. Can you really say the 14b is this turbo's equivelent?

Not even close. I highly doubt anyone with a T04B will ever come close to the 14b record!

Your run is pretty good imho, especially if it was on pump gas. About 3 years ago i ran 12.98 @ 106 in a full weight car(minus spare tire), on a 14b, 450's, starion FMIC, hacked 1g maf, stock non-eprom ecu, and no other fuel control or engine management. I did run racegas though.

Checking on the 1/4 mile times, 11.9 is the fastest for a 14b.
Assuming full weight - say 3200 Lbs, that engine was making 456 HP.

Your 12.98 was 359 HP. Good job. I guess on race gas you don't have to worry too much about leaning out with thse 450s.

14b record no nitrous is 11.7 by Leon Reitman. And 11.9 is good for 375whp.

i just recieved my v-trim today once i unpackaged it i was happy to see the size difference between my fpbigt-28 . on the other hand i ordered the kit and i recieved it with no oil drain line

OK, there may be some misunderstanding here

- I am running on gas out of a pump.

- The numbers I run at the track are the same ones I can run on the street - every day.

- I am impressed with what the people with the 14b have accomplished.
Those are seroiusly great achievements.
I am talking about squeezing every last drop out of that turbo,
and a driving skill that I could not match.

OK, now my thought is "what if we gave leon reitman the t04b?" Wonder what he could do with it? 10s or better I bet.

Another problem is that this is probably more turbo that most people need. A lot of people are going to be blowing up their cars with this. Some of those will blame it on the turbo.
That is a big reason to recommend the 14b and 16g to the crowd that has to ask 'what turbo should I upgrade to?"

The snow on the ground is there from Christ for us. I agree with Paul. Give it some time. I am a big fan of the Bullseye turbine. This is based on the look and feel of it, no flow test. I had one on my RS49 andh before I purchased my 60-1 I made sure it came with the SAME housing. I got the car out on a day without snow and boost/lag was not a problem considering no tune and a short ride. Seems like all of the complaining is being made by guys who do not have the Bullseye. This turbo seems to be designed for larger displacement engines run at a lower boost level, as indicated by the information in the quoted post 10," The wheel is theoretically good for moving alot of air at relatively low pressures." The problem with this is, to continue to make more power on a lower compression small displacement engine like a stock 4g63, you have to continue to raise boost pressure. Honda's typically run higher compression, so they often keep the boost low around 15 psi. The turbo may not be able perform how you want it to if the amount of boost you can run is limited by compressor surge. My friend ran into this problem with his TO4E 60trim(not 60-1), which has an inducer very close to the same size as the v-trim. When he tried to run ~25+ psi it would surge like a bi***, so he had to get rid of it.

I'm just trying to look out for other DSMer's, especially those that are fairly new to DSM's, to try to make sure they recieve accurate information and prevent them from being mislead. You have to be careful when it comes to vendors, as their #1 priority is making money, or making a living for themself.

I personally think nazthug's 298whp on piss-91octane, stock longblock, stock cams, and 550's at 18psi of boost is pretty good, wouldn't you? Especially with this new/old ( ) turbo everyone wants to get into detail for for whatever reason. With proper cams, better octane, higher boost, decent tunning, I can see this "small" turbo getting its quoted hp mark easily (350-400), especially with more and more people buying them. I think it's a step in the right direction.

Sure people can buy a Green or 50trim that will produce the similar numbers FOR SURE since those are tried-&-true...but 14b turbos have outdone themselves and getting equal quartermile times. Does that mean everyone should stick with their stock turbos? I personally don't think so. David is just offering an alternative to turbos that are already out there. Why is this a bad thing? Even if he does or doesn't have the 'bad' history people mention that he has, what vendor doesn't? There's alot of people that hate vendors that I consider top-notch, for whatever reason. And I think David 'so far' has been doing a good job of service, correcting errors, answering questions, now offering a warranty, and staying on a professional level with all the lurkers and finger-pointers.

I find it funny how all the TO4B turbo threads started tend to get locked. If you look at all the locked threads, you can kind of see a pattern as to why, towards the end...I can understand where NOSLO2PT0 is coming from though. It would have been nice if a test car produced actual numbers for us to look at and 'believe'. But I think that whole ordeal was already delt with an answered. I don't think its going to get anywhere by reiterating it over and over again...other then wasting space and your finger muscles. Soo...I say we just wait and see all the numbers start to roll in. If they are a cheap product or if David really is a scam-artist...then again, we'll all find out. Lets stop the assumptions and get back to what we all want..."Just the facts, ma'am".

I've seen guys with 20G's that run 15's. Just because they have a bigger turbo doesn't mean anything. But, as long as you are winning, thats what matters.

I can honestly say that I hope this thread gets closed because instead of discussing the turbo(t04b) all you guys talk about is the credibility and how shitty or not not shitty these turbos perform. there aren't any numbers to back up anything so we are all up in the air as far as our perception on how these turbos perform. I would rather see this thread stay a "discussion", but if it stays out of hand then mods, please close this and someone start a "bullseye t04b turbo review" thread so people with actual experience with the turbo can post their results.

I think the discussion should be for people who own this turbo or are thinking about owning this turbo. If you do not fall under this catergories then just keep your mouths shut. If you want to tell people something that you feel is important just PM them.
