Imo it s an exellent idea
So why are ppl still buyin big16gs if that one s not laggy...?and it s bolt on...

A few possible factors... mainly ignorance. See it all the time on all of the car boards online. "I got it because someone got it and he got it because his uncle got it too and his uncle got it because someone's uncle's uncle got it too... hey, well everyone's getting it, it's gotta be the right one"... right? if you're simpleton.

I'd personally go with the T04. So what if it lags a little, couple of degrees different at your ankle you'll be like "lag? what's that?"

Besides, if it does lag, it means you'll want to build a better motor for more usable low end power. Something you *should* be doing anyway along with all of the usual driveline mods. I laugh my head off everytime I read people complaining about how weak the tranny is when their putting out over 300 hp. Sure it all costs a significant amount of money. That's the name of the game. Spend more now... spend less later.

This is a good point. The more modifications you make around an upgraded turbo of any size the better it will perform, both in overall power and spool up. The biggest factor in dictating spool up and throttle response is the A/R ratio of the turbine housing. It must be properly sized to fit your HP range and displacement. Since all of your exhaust energy must pass through the turbine wheel or wastegate, we recommend a larger, high flowing turbine wheel matched with a smaller A/R ratio turbine housing. This will give you the best of both worlds, big power and excellent streetability. In the past, if you outflowed your turbine wheel you had to run a larger, external wastegate or you ended up with boost creep. Now with an available 38mm internal wastegate, you can spend that money on cams or a FMIC.

do u need a fpr for the 255 ?

This just depends on the car and whether or not the fuel pump is rewired, if it is rewired you will most likely need to get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator....

Even without fuel pump rewire rewire you are going to need and want one . I have not personally ran a 255 on stock fpr but have read many post stating its a serious no-no.

So wich is more streetable your t04e or t04b?
What's the main difference?

They are both very "streetable". You need to pick the turbocharger that will best fit your realistic HP range. T04B will operate well in the 3-400+ WHP range and the T04E will work well from 350 to over 500. What modifications do you currently have and what will you be adding in the very near future?

ok everyone I have the to4b bolt on by bullseye power, its an awsome turbo for the money, fully spoolin by 3300 or less, not very much lag, install is straight through just be sure to loop the coolant lines. :thumb: :dsm: and you better have a good fmic haha, on this turbo soon im going to make around 350-370whp

Here's what I have now: New TRE-Spec tanny w/ACT 2600,
All EVO components, ported, including exhaust, 02 housing and turbo(to be sold). 550cc injectors. Dejon UICPipe with GM MAF&Translator/Scanmaster-tuning,wideband 02 meter.
2.5'ss mandrel exhaust, no cat-open muffler.
mods after winter storage begins in october:
650+ injectors.
FMIC.
3" pipes if needed.exhaust
hard lower IC pipe.
Dejon full 3" intake/CAI

I would want the T04E. just need to know what I need to change from my present plans. Thanks

boost05 : What turbo did you have before this one? Did you notice a huge gain when you bolted this turbo on? I noticed you're front wheel drive, How is traction? I know with just my 16g my tires break loose at 4,000rpm all the way to redline in first, and second. it will chirp them in 4th gear dumping the clutch it will do it in 5th. Are you satisfied with the to4b?

With your current modifications I would suggest either of our T04B combinations. With your additional mods, you could go ahead and pick one of our T04E combos. Just keep in mind, you won't see the turbos full potential until you add the injectors, 3" exhaust, FMIC and piping.

That's a bullseye power housing, but that sure doesn't look like one of our complete turbos. Where did you get it?

I plan to fully enjoy this turbo. I just ordered a fuel pump as well and will be getting 660cc injectors.

I am hoping to have my clutch on by the end of the week and my fuel pump should be in. So I will definately let you know how it runs.

I plan to add the following by next month.

Inj.
FMIC
Greddy E-manage.

and some other misc. goodies.

We will see what this turbo can do.

Cams later.

word, ill have my setup done next week, 255 lhp, 680cc injectors, fmic, etc... 350whp here I come 20psi I had it made from Mr portera out of portera motorsports, awsome turbine housing btw

OK, yes. He uses our turbine housings for their complete turbos.

14b and with that I could chrip my tires in third, well too tell you the truth I did somthing that you will never see, I bolted this turbo on with nothing else the car is extremely slow with this setup, (stock smic, injectors, fp etc...) the only reason why I did it was becasue I didnt know if I was going to have this car for much longer becasue I told myself that I dont have much into it, so I threw the turbo on so I could keep it if that makes any sence. but I will be exspecting wheelspin at the top of 3rd and maybe a long spin into 4th or maybe worse but I also have new tires so it depends on what your running. with around 370whp in about 3-4 weeks when im done, ill PM you with more info with my setup you will like this turbo its awsome!!! and yes I am very satisfied with this turbo, be sure to turbo time it or let it idle for about 30- 1 minute after your ready to leave your car this thing spins for EVER!! good luck you will like it if you get it "FWD'S A bi***" but I like it

A little heads up for DSM tuner members. Bullseye Power will be running a sale this weekend on all of our in stock bolt on Garrett turbochargers. We will be discounting our complete turbos by $50 from now until Monday or while supplies last. I will make an announcement on the vendor board in the next day or two. Don't miss out, order yours today.

I'm also already thinking about upgrading turbos. Just picked up the car. Hes the list:

Rc 550 Injectors
IRC Fmic with 2.5" Piping
GReddy Type S Bov
Act 2600
Hks waste gate ( o2 dump ) *edit* external wastegate
Evo III Big 16g Turbo (ported)
Stock internals
Every single hose was replaced, bla bla bla
S-afc V2 (*black faced*)
2g Ported Manifold
3" Buschur Exhaust
3" Dp
No cat

I'm not sure about the fuel pump, i havent looked yet but the person i bought it from said it was a TT supra fuel pump. Not sure about that though.

But I plan on selling my turbo setup maybe and the injectors. Let me know what sounds good..Im checking out Bullseyepower right now.

Im currently boosting at 17psi. I'm gonna leave it at 17 psi, except on track day ill go 20-22 id say.

Did I read that AGP uses the same turbine housing? What a/r is the turbine and what does a 76 trim/T-31 turbine wheel mean in different terms? Can someone give me a shot of the back side of the compressor housing? Thanks, Mark
PS: The comp housing I am looking at is 3" tapered to the inducer of the wheel, not like the pic above. Perhaps I am looiking at an 04E housing.

Yes, that's correct. AGP has been using our turbine housings for a year or so. We can't disclose our exact A/R ratio, but I can tell you its between a .48 and a .63 A/R. Trims and part numbers are basically Garretts way of "labeling" their different turbine and compressor wheels. There's no way to decifer size or flow rates from these numbers.

So the a/r is proprietary info? Between .48 & .63, closer to what? Smaller a/r quicker spool, but less top end and a large a/r the reverse. Well I just got an AGP RS49, unused but from a tuner member who needed the cash. It's a To4E with a 3" intake tapering to the size of the comp wheel inducer. The compressor has no Garrett cast into it or any name for that matter. The backing of the compressor has around 21 "fins" cast into it. A/R .60 is cast on the front and 671393 between a couple of the "fins" on the backing plate. Ceter setion has only Y4 cast facing the front. Can anyone make an identification from any of ths? Thanks, Mark

Yes, it is proprietary. I can tell you that after many years and more money than I care to talk about, we came up with this A/R. Its strictly designed for a 1.8-2.4 liter engine operating in the 350-600 HP range. As I mentioned in a earlier post, with the proper sized turbine wheel in this housing you can have the "best of both worlds". Big power and great spool up. That information you mentioned is standard on most Garrett turbos and wont really tell you a whole lot, so you'll have to check AGP's website for more details.

I have found Bulls-eye very helpful in the customer service area even though I bought my turbo from a tuners member who got it from another vendor that uses the "eyes" turbine housing. I will post additional on the proper forum. Check it out. Mark
