I'm of the opinion that "factory freaks" exist for every machine out there - including human beings. :)

We've gotta add in here that Q also has a great weight advantage. :p The dude is supposedly 140 lbs soaking wet, and perhaps 140.5 lbs now that he's gotta wear a helmet.

And the weather here in NE Ohio really has been great for us turbo-DSMs.

Damn I ran at Norwalk with these mods and only got 14.5

1g bov in a homeade 2.5" SS UICP welded together
drop in k&n
act 2100
10$ of 110 octane gas
2.5" turbo back exhaust
I had my mbc off at the time so i was only running like 12 lbs...

damn something must be wrong with my car... not to mention that it was cold as hell that day...

maybe i should do a leak test?

also i did end up having to replace my rear passenger side wheel bearing... it was really bad when i did the run.. maybe power wasn't being put down because of it...

Any help from you local cleveland dsmers would be great guys!!!

I just bought a 97 tsi awd 5 speed so reading this thread with interest.I did notice that you disconnected the exhuast at the 02 housing.If you did that then would think you would be going much higher than stock boost on your 2g.Your 1g blow off can handle the higher boost.When I just added an apexi 3 inch exhuast and n1 downpipe with no cat my 14 b went to like 17 psi and spiked even higher.!! So woudl think disconnecting the 02 did the same thing.Are you sure your car was only putting out 10psi at the track..I think that is like a second faster than they are supposed to run stock isn't it.And yes a car might be slighly faster but a full second...doubtful.I think typical stock times bone stock at stock boost are like high 14s low 15s.I test drove a stock auto awd and best out of that thing was 16.3 on my tazzo which was calibrated at local track.Tazzo is like g tech.Now admit the auto couldn't get any decent 60ft which didn't help much.

yea I was spiking like 14-15 but it would set down at redline

Well if it was hitting 15 or so it wasn't stock boost!!! Stock is like 10 and that would explain why you are quite a bit faster than bone stoke.As soon as you play with exhaust restrictions you get more boost same as if you added a boost controller.my 14b with just apexi 3 inch catback and downpipe with no cat would hit 18 .20 psi with no boost controller connected.That is why they always warn you not to remove the cat unless you can support the added boost .If you didn't have the 1g blowoff you would likely be stuck at 10 to 12 like everyone else.So again not really a bone stock run.

Hey the 1gbov is a stock part if I am correct and if I had a 1g you would have not said anything:)! The car ran with the exhaust on best of 14.2 at 94 with an airfilter now BONE stock I ran 14.5 at 95 with nothing at all and even a stock clutch at 101k

Anyways nice car
