synthetiic oil for turbo

Just wonder i have and eclipse with the 420a engine with a brand new head and head gasket but the car has over 100k miles on it and im turboing it this week will synthetic oil be ok to use in my car, or should i just use high mileage oil for it.

Do not start this battle.

Synthetic has one verifiable benefit, and that is thermal decomposition. Synthetic can withstand more heat and will burn at a higher temp than natural oil. It also costs more.

For the sake of simplicity, there is no difference between synthetic and natural oils. Synthetic may have minor seepage with slightly higher viscosity, but it does not effect the way the engine works. If you want synthetic you can use a sealer to make sure there is not excessive seepage and still get the high temp characteristics.

I already knew what synthetic did i was just wondering if it is ok to use with a turbo cause it does have to go through the turbo, this is just my first turbo ever using an a car or anything and i want things to go as smooth as possible.

Yeah. Amsoil is the best stuff you can put into a car. My second choice would be Mobil1 (which is almost as good, but significantly cheaper).

I run 0W30 in my GSX.

I have to change my statement. I went to the store today to buy oil and Amsoil was actually cheaper than Mobil1. Weird. Maybe I'm in the twilight zone or something. It was also cheaper than what I used to pay for it in MD.
