I put a 16g in my 2g. My friend that helped asked if i had to put a lil extra oil for the bigger turbo IDK. Should i.?

No. The turbo is not THAT much bigger. So its ok with 4qts. :thumb:

No, there's absolutely no reason to put more oil in for a "larger" turbo, just make sure your dipstick reads at the right level and that's all you have to do. Also, the 16G CHRA is really no larger than the 14B CHRA, and maybe minimally larger than a T25 CHRA, so there would be at most an ounce more oil in it, if that.

No. 4 quarts of your favorite are what you need. Large or small, it doesn't matter. All oil doing in the turbo is keeping things lubricated and keeping it cool.

The turbo isn't a sump...it's oil supply is set up to drain. By the time you shut the car off, pop the hood, and pull the stick it should be drained into the oil pan.

If your turbo is holding oil, you've got big problems.

Hey we should probably get another dozen answers to this.. I'm still not sure if he should use more oil..

WTF
