What are the symtems of a clogged fuel filter
I want to make sure that that is the problem before I start buying stuff and replaceing everthing that I could think it is

I just need to know what the clugged fuel filter could do thats all

Usually you will loose performance and the acceleration will be choppy as hell. If the car runs like shit then its either a boost leak or fuel related
 
It will run okay when I start it some times (usually in the morning when I first start it) and after I have driven it a few miles it will run choppy.
And last time I started it the car ran at like 100-200 rpm as if its not getting the fuel nessecary. It ran fine before but does not now.

One more fact is that the car sat for about a year and a half till I got it and put the six bolt in it. I didn't drain the fuel before I started driving it (opps it only had like 2-4 galons in it then I topped it off) so thats why I think it could be the fuel filter.
 
sounds like the crap i have to deal with once in a while. What you should probably do is get the Larson hose kit from RRE and replace all your vac lines. Do a boost leak test and replace the PCV valve and the fuel filter. If you have not done this yet replace plugs and wires. Get the NGK 6es anf accel thundersport 300 wires. Those are the best for the money. I hav NGK IX but many people dont like them... I do.

well I replaced My fuel filter and my plugs checked my PCV (it's fine) and am still to do a boost leak test and am still having the same problem.

I can not hear a vacume leak and I checked all of my vac lines and they all seem to be fine but problem still prosist. Help!!
 
Just for the record. A stopped up fuel filter will feel exactly like a stopped up catalytic converter or a weak fuel pump.

The complaint will be runs ok when driving normally and when I try to go up hills or pass or even just accellerate, it loses power.

It will be a smooth loss of power. Not jerky as in ignition and such.

You can eliminate a cat conv. by removing the o2 sensor and running to see if power has returned somewhat.

how would I check my ignition could it be my wires that I swapped on my coils for my 6 bolt swap might be loose and if there not how do I check it. I have tryed every thing else and don't know what the heck it could be.

By the way I still haven't done a boost leak test witch I know could also be the problem but don't know how to make a boost leak tester so if you have any Ideas it would be apperciated.
