Alright so I have two questions in one.

Why does my car take like 5-10 seconds to start. My fuel pressure SEEMS to build slowly. also the fuel pump does not kick on until the starter moves. Im not sure if when the ignition is on do dsms prime the fuel system?
I'm not new to the dsm world and this is really bugging me. Heres a mod list and such:

dsmlink
fic 1000's
bc 272 cams
supra tt pump
2gmas
sx regulator

I have done:
tested fuel pump
rechecked base timing
adjusted tps correctly
fuel pressure is ~ 43 psi

The thing is once the car starts it runs perfect otherwise. Other times it starts up quick as hell. like 1-2 seconds of cranking. Reguardless of it being cold or hot.

The other question is my fuel pressure bleeds off instantly. I remember reading something about fixing how fast thesx regulator bleeds off, but cannot find it. Also ive compared with others that have FIC 1000's and they say their fuel pressure bleeds off fast as well. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, steve

most aftermarket regulators take time to build pressure its something to expect so don't worry. another thing is that they also bleed off really quickly. my aeromotive fpr also takes time to build and it bleeds quickly.

Check that the fuel pump is installed correctly. Also, make sure it has a good positive wire. If the regulator looses pressure while off, but keeps fuel pressure at idle and at boost you are good to go.

Ahh, thank you for the responses, Yeah the car runs fine its just the extending cranking sucks sometimes. I feel if a didint have some massive optima battery it would wear down.

I was thinking of priming the system with a switch actuallly, thats a good idea. I might experiment as to how fast the car starts if i prime it. Maybe like a push button or something. My battery is in the back as it is, it would be fairly easy to wire up.
