2G Swollen upper rad hose

ive been noticing my upper rad hose has been getting really swollen when the car warms up, just tonight i got home and took a look and it was swollen like a pig, the lower rad hose gets hot too and the thermostat opens ( was bleeding the coolant last week and could see the coolant flowing to the rad and the fan turns on ). Replaced the rad cap last week as my old one wasnt sealing properly. New rad cap is 13 psi motorad i believe.

How old is the hose? Old hoses will get soft and swell once the system is pressurized and eventually blow. May be time to replace both upper and lower for good measure.

Not too sure, bought the car in january, chances are the hose is probably old, planning on replacing both when i do the timing belt/water pump in the next week or two. I hope it doesnt blow before then because its my daily at the moment. But thankyou hopefully it is just old hoses. Did a compression test and had right around 170 across all 4, so i dont think its the hg but i havent done a leak down so you never know haha

it would be a good idea to inspect the rest of your hoses while your at it.

You can buy a nice kit off Amazon that replaces all the coolant hoses under your hood. Everything fits great as well. Don't take my word for them as far as longevity goes though, I've only been using the kit on my car for a month.
