I swapped dashs with a 98 GS and am putting it into my 97 GSX. Everything looks good except the tweeter wiring seems to be different as you can tell from the picture. The tweeter itself is from my 97 GSX as it is the infinity speaker but the 98 black dash has a black wire and a black wire with a white stripe for the tweeters. Will it work how it is wired or do I need to do something else? Does it matter that the GS doesn't come with the amp and my GSX does?

You should have changed out the dash harness to match your vehicle. The wiring is completely different between turbo and non turbo.

you are halfway correct. the dash will work. the dash wiring on the other hand wont. start pulling off the hvac ducting, and youll see how the harness is routed. maybe a 30 minute job to swap them if you've never done it before

Ok I talked to the guy that I swapped dashs with and he is gonna take the harness out for me and ship it to me. I will install my old harness and be all dandy then.

Thanks for the help guys, wish I would of knew this before I drove 4 hours to swap dashes :ohdamn:

So one last question for future readers, would a 95-99 turbo dash harness work fine in my car or does t have to be from a 97-99?

I'm pretty sure that harness will be the, I know there are some minute differences with the engine harness in the.

Yeah - it makes about as much sense as an 2G AWD exhaust costing more than a 2G FWD exhaust. :)

I'm doing this swap too! Just from a 99 GS to a 95 GST.
:D
Have you swapped the harness yet? Just curious, from what I'm looking at it doesn't SEEM to be difficult. But usually to me that means it'll be the biggest PITA ever.

Yeah, I figured it would be easy. It's more getting the turbo harness in to the non turbo dash and making sure everything works properly that I'm concerned about. Just patience and labeling and it'll all go by smoothly, at least that's how I see it playing out in my head.
haha

The harness just lays in there and I'd hard to mess up. As you pull the old one out, just start popping the new one in.

Thanks guys! I'm feeling a lot more confident about doing this now that I hear how easy it is!!!
