Recently I bought a 1990 Talon TSi AWD to replace my 91 Talon TSi FWD. Since the engine of my FWD is rebuilt (internals and a lot of mods), my idea is to swap that engine into the AWD car. I also have the 91 EPROM ECU with dsmlink from my FWD and I am also planning to get the EPROM ECU + dsmlink into the 90 AWD.

Since I will be swapping all the complete engine and the eprom ECU, will I still need to swap pins 6 & 14??? will i need to buy the tach adapter from dsmchips in order to make my tach work properly?? what happen if I just swap pin 6 & 14??? or those I need to change the coil pack or some other part?? what should I do to make the 91 EPROM ECU work on a 90 car with a complete 91 engine swap (including the 91 coil pack and everything)???

I already search before begining this thread, but i really didn't found the answers for my questions... BTW, after using the "search" option i found some important info:
- 90 ECU on a 91-94: only needs to swap pins 6 and 14 in order to work well
- 91+ ECU on a 90: need to swap pins + buying the tach adapter from keydiver chips (internal or external). Or instead of buying the tach adapter you just need to use the ignition set up of the 90 model (coilpack).

I am a little bit confused on this. Hope someone can help me with my issue:confused:

Thanks in advance

You will have to swap out the pins because the wiring harness is different in the 90 compared to the 91 unless you swap out the harness also then you will not have to make any changes from what you are running now. You will fine the cas plug and some of the other electronics on the 90 model are different on the 91 model.

Throttle body is different on the 90's The 91's have an extra wire for the TPS.

And Cam angle sensor's are different. (think those are easy to rewire)

91 will have a transistor pack with the tach translator built in (7 pin) and a 3 pin coil pack
90 will have a 5 pin transistor pack and a 4 pin coil pack with the tach box on the coil

You can bust out a wiring diagram and try to rewire it.
For the extra 2 pins on the transistor pack, one is the tach signal, the other is a switched 12v.

Or buy 90 stuff

--I have made 91 transistorpack work with a 90 coil/wiring
You should be able to wire in the 91 stuff. If you have your 91 harness and plugs still, you should be able to reroute the wires for the coil and transistor pack.
