I Just finished my 6bolt swap and when i tried to turn it over it would not start. I heard it back fire once or twice but thats it. I was wondering if there are any other ways have the plug wires set up other than what rre has on there site. I followed the description of what they say to do and how to order the wires so im just stuck on what to do. My car is a 95 and im using a 90 cas and the wiring for it and the ecu pins are correct so im just wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

umm... what about your stock 95 cas... that should be the same as the year ECU you are using.. that might help...

ummm... did you even check for spark? If you got spark you are good..

Do you have gas? Is your fuel pump turning on? Did you check your cam timing (if you changed it...)?

pull the spark plug out, but it in the end of the wire.. set it on the valve cover, and have someone crank the motor a few times.. you should see a spark in the plug... if not, then check your coil packs... if you do see it, try changing that cas... that really seems like its the prob... again, could be wrong.. just start at spark and work your way back...

well my car is a 95 and the ecu is stock so its the same year, i rewired it into the 90 cas on the new motor. I do have gas about half a tank when it stopped running in march. this motor was already in a 97 and the swap was done. but when i looked at the plug order it was different then what it says online if that means anything? Thanks for the help though

the plug order shoudnt matter.. well, kinda... just swap the plugs.. 1-2.. 3-4... that should do it... are you sure you rewired the CAS right? just try changing the order of your plugs...

Any other suggestions anyone nothing is working. If this matters the motor came out of a 97. We switched the wires around every which way possible, and also flipped the cas because it was out of a 97 instead of 95-96. It did run for about 20 seconds but wouldnt stay running so i stopped trying. Im pulling my hair out and im tired of 10 hour days in the garage.

I had a similar problem when I rebuilt the 7 bolt in my brothers car. Sometimes it would fire but run rough then backfire and die. Keep in mind that nothing electrical was replaced. Hooked up my palm pilot and pulled the code it said cas problem. Threw in a new cas and not a hitch since.

Does the positive and negative that are not wired into anything have to go somewhere like a ground or something? Its the ones off the cam sensor. Would mass air flow cause a car not to start or just run rough?

yeah its aligned correct. The car started and ran for a little bit with constant stepping on throttle but died out when i let off, now it doesnt start just cranks and tries but never does. At least one maybe 2 cylinders and getting some fuel due to the wet plug i found, i cleaned it off and let it sit for a few. Any other things?

OK so after rechecking all my connections and relooking at all the wiring i did everything seems to be exactly how they said to do on rre and magnus. If its all wired up to what they say what could possibly not make my car run? I will try to start still but wont and just back fire really loud. It came out of a 98 so my friend flipped the cas 180 maybe i should switch it back? any suggestions im all out at this point after 6 months i just want the thing to run :(

i have no answer for you, but if anyone can tell him a reason to flip the CAS around 180* from where it is now, I would say do that for the hell of it just to say you did it.

What mas are you using ? Have you changed it ? What year throttle body / intake ? Could be a major boost leak . Bad mas .

Im using the stock mas, and the intake and throttle body are i believe a 2g. I mean boost leak would make sense but im 99.9% sure its not one i went over the pipes and a few things that i plugged up like emissions.

Have you tried to run it with the mas unplugged ? Are you sure the intake manifold is torqued properly ?

I would pull plugs (one at a time ) , visually check for spark . If ok I would clean up some fuel . Pull rail and make sure injectors are working . Have plenty of towels ready . Should not take much other than a split second on the key . I running out of guesses myself . :barf:

Ok my car had a similiar problem. unplug the plugs on the top of the injectors and take a test light and probe the terminal then have a buddy hit the key and see if the light fllashes if it does then you good but make sure you check all four. If it doesnt flash make sure everything is connected. mine didnt flash and the ecu was bad

if i were you i would check the ecu make sure no leaky caps when i built my 6bolt and put it back in we went to start it and it wouldnt fire. noticed one of the plugs for one of the injectors broke fixed it and then it would start for a min and die and then run but back fire. the ecu had a leaky cap and it ruined the ecu just take the cover off the case and check it. if its not the probelm somthing is wrong with your wiring you checked all 4 injectors and made sure the work correct?
