Hey, lately I noticed my car has been making a knocking noise when I turn and I can also feel it in my steering wheel, obviously this is prrb something with the suspension or drivetrain, any ideas what it could be? Also it seems that the noise is coming from the drivers side. Thanks!

It could be a lot of different things, but you shouldn't be driving it like that. You should take it to a reputable shop.

well, my dad is a mechanic so that is not a problem taking it to his shop, but i just thought i would ask on here first.

well the knocking noise could be from a CV shaft or half Shaft with a torn boot. look under the car and see the shaft comming out of the tranny to the wheele spindle."see if the rubber boot is torn...
that would make more of a clicking noise when you turn. if you and knock i would check the hub and barring assembaly make sure theirs no play. it should move a hole lot. CV shafts are pretty easy do it your self kind of thing just a lil side note......

If it is CV joints and you decided not to rebuild them i suggest you buy them from Murray's. Life time warranty :sneaky:.

I would also jack up your car and see if the wheels have any toe/ camber play. It would be your tie rod ends or ball joints. I know you said your dad is going to fix it at his shop but for anyone else i would suggest to buy a ball joint tool if you try to do ball joints. I am a big harborfreight fan http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=38335. If you don't have one by you i feel bad but there is an online store ( i have used it)

Nobody mentioned it, but what about your power steering? anything leaking or anything look a little off? thought I would bring that up
