Ok I just got back from a vacation. My father thought he would be helpful and install my ProKit and Illuminas while I was gone. When I came back I noticed the car seemed alot lower than 1.2", and I asked him if you put everything back on and he said yes. It rides rather rough. I went into the trunk to see what he had the dampner adjusted to? And behold there were my stock yellow bumper stops. I am un-installing and re-installing tomorrow, but would this equate to the rough ride and what seems to be alot lower?

yes. they are there to help stop the travel of the assembly.

i had to repair this hack job suspension job a couple months ago. the bump stops weren't installed and the car sat a LOT lower than the 1.2" drop it was supposed to have and it felt horrible while driving.

once i reinstalled the bump stops and a set of new shocks (because his shocks were blown from the car sitting on them without the stops), the car sat the way it was supposed to and rode a lot better.

the bump stops are there to prevent the shock from bottoming out. if the ride height increases after you put them back on, that means you're on the bump stops and have basically no suspension travel. you're also supposed to cut them to regain some travel.

many people on this board have reported getting more than a 1.2" drop with Pro-Kits.

That is not what I wanted to hear. Because I don't like the ride height of my car. I live in DT Houston and the roads are not the best, in fact they suck @$$. Should I look at a set like the Tien H-Tech that only lower .9" and swap them out.

I've heard that, too. I had the prokits on my GSX with KYB AGX shocks. They settled down at a 1.3" drop, but that just depends on the car really. The most I've ever seen the suspension settle to is 1.5".

I used to live in San Antonio and I drove through Houston a lot on my way to Conroe. I never had a problem with the roads with a Pro-Kit.
My driveway here in CA is a HUGE incline and I can't even use the parking brake to hold it when it's parked, but I never scraped going up it or coming back down. I don't think you'll have to worry.

Unfortunately I scrape often, and the ride is terrible, and I don't even have the Illumina's on their hardest setting. I am also in the middle of doing body work for a body kit (car was vandelized), and I had to replace all bumper and trip pieces. It goes in for paint in about 2 weeks. I have to have this resolved before it is finished. Even if I have to go back to stock height. An suggestions, as in above like Tien H-Tech, or where I can get a good set of OEM springs?
