Hell , i got a t3 in the garage i could use if i wanted too.

i could use a lil bit of spray along with turbo..... 50 shot.

extra 150 pfft. easy. ive been working on imports for quite a few years now , hondas and all.

i know whats capable with the right combination of mods, and tuning.

i think a better HG will go on of course. now i think i might do the rings & pistons after i get the car running and boosting decently first tho.

ginsu is making what 327hp of his one eight ??
I didnt say it wasn't possible to do it, I just said that getting any 14 second et, much less a solid low 14 second et without expecting to have to upgrade to forged internals may turn out to be a dissapointing experiment.

ginsu's car has forged internals...

Hell , ive even thought about picking up a honda b18 vtec and making some mounts, and having custom axles made. then throwin it in the clipse. but i never wana return to the honda game again , with the eclipse i dont have to worry about it being stolen.......

All i'm gonna say to that is its your car and your money...

yes but ginsu has done alot to his car including internals , i think thats where you will get a lot of horsepower is from internals, and im pretty sure the 4g93 does not fit i looked into a bunch of heads but i dont quite remember if that was one of them, because if we could get a dohc head that would really help alot ecspecially with the boost, another alternative is port and polish :p some bigger valves :)

A 16 valve head would remove one of the biggest restrictions the 1.8 has and if I was trying to make a 1.8l dsm fast it would probobly be the first thing I would look for. Larger valves and a P&P *might* help but it depends on the combustion chamber design. Larger valves tend to make it harder for the air to get around the head of the valve on smaller combustion chambers and require some serious port work and a flow bench to be truly taken advantage of.

So far, I haven't found anything that bolts on to the 4g37 as far as from the earlier DSMs that were smaller cc's and turboed. That was my first thought as well...but alas they do are not compatible. This project is something that will take lots of time and is something that I tinker with on the side so I hope no one thinks it is going to happen quickly. I have found a stroker kit for the g37 for under $900 and I am awaiting responses from other shops about the blower. I have a buddy whose brother is trying to establish himself in the blower/turbo market and seems pretty interested in having the 1.8 for a donor. Only time will tell if this is just madness....oh well...I'll try and keep everyone updated. For those of you breaking off into the turbo posts....no offense, but please take that to one of the many turbo threads. :spam: Later, N8 :dsm:

Not sure where this post is going, but but from the research I have done, SuperCharging is gonna take about 20HP to run. And then whatever it adss is in addition to that. So take away 20HP, leaves you 72. Then add maybe 40 to that, and you net only 20HP for Supercharging.

WAY to expensive for 20 HP.

That's why MOST 4 bangers go TURBO, not supercharger.

The Saturn Redline is one exception, however.

Turbo is probably more efficient.

Any thoughts? I mean wether or not it can be done is one thing, but you also gotta consider: is it worth it?

I don't think you would have a parasitic loss of 23-24 % just by having to spin the supercharger.I'm no engineer, but thats alot of power your taling about.Found this:

http://auto.howstuffworks.com/question122.htm

so just guestimating this would mean that with a low ball hp No. would be 119 hp and a high hp no. would be 128 hp.This isn't counting bolt-ons and such.definatly not cost effective, but definatly exclusive.I guess if i was bored and had the money i would do it,but without internals and nitrous, your not gonna be able to surprise any turboed dsms.

I was pulling into school one day and saw a car. Eagle Summit. 1.8L i believe. and it had 16 valves. Is that cylinder head compatible. I'm not sure if that engine is the 4g9x motor your talking about becsaue im unsure of what lies beneath. Weather It has been looked into or not im unsure of but someone may want to check that out if not.
