I've been reading alot about pacesetter headers and i was wondering if there is any gain from them? or any headers? i've heard like 1-5hp but i duno if anyone has some let me know how it worked out for you thanx :dsm:

pasecetter doesn't make a header for the 1.8....actually no one does LOL but i would really like to have one or find someone or hope someone will start making them for our 1.8 :( :)

well that sux :thumbdown i thought i read people saying they had them for it but maybe it was just the 2liter...amnd it would be nice if they started making any aftermarket parts for the 1.8l i know there not made for racing but people still like to have some gains. :dsm:

i feel your pain. do what i did. i got rid of my 1.8 eclipse and bought a 2.0 talon. i didn't even bother selling the ecliipse i just striped it and sold some parts since it's so hard to even find stock parts for that car. I'm very happy with my 2.0 but power gets addicting and now i'm thinking of turning it turbo.

the 2.0 has tons aof available parts.
it gets good gains from the stock tubro intake cam.
some after market turbo cam are very effective on the n/t also.
theres headers, cat back systems. after that any part for the gst can bolt on the n/t

yeah but im in need of money right now haha so i can't really afford to get one, or even find one haha...so im stuck with the 1.8 for now or keep it for daily driver and just find something else to work on for fun

2.0 headers should work just fine with the 1.8l, but go with punishment racing instead of pacesetter!!! It's really a waste of money to pour on a 1.8 though.

IMO Save that $200 or so dollars up, and add to it and before you know it you'll have enough to hear that pssssshhht sound when you shift!!!!!!!!!!

(buy 1g dsm turbo)

there is no 2.0 header that works with the 1.8, this has been discused many times before

It does not fit, period

yeh thast what i was thinking...there 2 different engines

First of all the 1.8L motors shouldnt be considered DSM's at all, but if u want headers for it you have to have them custom made by a shop.

haha dude its the same car how should they not be dsms all the difference is...is the engine same car... u suck :thumbdown and i know that they on;t make them cuz someone just said it

Whats with all the hating on the 1.8 lately?

Next time your timing belt snaps and takes your valves and pistons with it think of my 1.8 driving around without a care, **** :thumbdown

BTW-he is right about the headers though, they can only be custom made, and ive never seen anyone that actually has them.

i have a 1.8 and a 2.0 turbo awd... honestly i love my 1.8 alot more than the 2.0. the 2.0 is a big pain, my 2.0 is actually not running .... hmm because it jumped timming and bent all the valves and i'm afraid it damaged the pistons... i have put 1k into this 2.0 turbo and have only gotten to drive it 3 times and its bin a month or soo since i bought it which is pretty sad... and my 1.8 is runny better than when it came out of the factory.. this prolly the last time i buy a 2.0 turbo... i might get a 2.0 n/t but ill always have my 1.8... :laser:

i wanted to know if the evo II or the evo III engine can fit nicely in my 1g eclipse without any problems with the engine mounts or harness's

My 1.8L engine purrs right along, even though I would love to hear the sound of a turbo under my hood. I had a 91 laser with turbo that threw a rod within 3 months of owning and it only had 1/2 the miles that my Eclipse has that runs perfectly. :dsm: :thumb:

Last time I looked my 1.8L had a DSM badge along the firewall.

I agree they are not in the same class as a 4G63T, but it's still a DSM! Just not grown up yet!

Back on topic- I'd be in for a header too....I'm getting with a local DSM shop here in Omaha this week to see what they can do for a header and the cost involved, I'll post back when I have facts.
