Ave a few questions that I haven't been able to fun in the searches I've conducted...

1) sun roof wiggles side to side (very noticeable) I guess more of a twisting motion anyways you get what I'm saying

2) when opening/closing it tends to get "stuck" if you will and stop and return to open/closed as a safety feature and there is nothing blocking it an the rails are clear?

3) also it appears that the passenger side when it's closed sticks up a bit farther than drivers side and it has to possibility to leak water (I live in Oregon so this is the biggest problem due to my brand new custom camo headliner and the rain is rediculous here LOL). :(

If anyone has had any of these problems and could help out that would be great!!!

Live in Washington definitely understand. You would have to take out the sunroof glass to really see what's going on. The motor sits on 2 cables with threads and one cable could be sticky causing it to shimmy, stick/bind. You can level the glass by loosening the 6 star bolts.

Taken the glass off a few time and what the glass sits on the "sliders" if you will are both loose and I can't see what's going on really any ideas? It literally can be moved about 3/4" twisting motion.

Also where is the motor/cables located I've never noticed them before?

Also te sun roof moves very slow it seems I'm not sure how to tell you time other than timing it on a watch for accuracy... Lol but it seems to move pretty slow even with new greasing/lubricant I this normal in your experiences? Not a problem for me but maybe it's related?

My sunroof is pretty slow too, to get a good look at the motor and cables you'd have to take out headliner and remove the whole sunroof "pan". I don't have a pic of the underside but the top these bronze and black tubing house the cables and you can see were the sliders mount to the rail

So to diagnose the motor/cables I would need to remove headliner and some other interior stuff I can't do this from the top?

To get to the cables you have to go in from the headliner side.
Do you have the hand crank thing for the sunroof anymore? You could crank it by hand and see if it does the same thing. If it does then it would be likely it is the cables.

The "pan" is bolted on from inside.

Oh and the leaking part there are hoses coming from the pan that go into the cabin posts to drain water out of the pan. They pretty much designed it knowing water would get in. I get what you mean though I too would rather try to prevent the water from coming in in the first place.

You can access the manual open/close under that cover next to the open switch. Either way the headliner needs to come out to look at the motor and cables. The sliders can be seen from the top with the glass off

Thanks a lot for the Help I'll get back to you all after work!

SOB LOL I started to mess with the sliders and took them off.. Both appear to have nothing "visibly broken but function like the cheapest parts ever not stable smooth or sturdy at all? Is everyone's like this? Also one of my cables was bent back and fourth and snapped somewhere way down in those tubes... great! Lol

Does anyone know where to buy new sliders/cables and are the sliders any sturdier or are they all this way?

Alright guys pulled sunroof "pan" if you will and I'm assuming my cables shouldn't look like that? And that could be part of my problem with it stopping and going back?

Also are my pipes that guide it supposed to be bent like that?

Where can I buy cables? And new sliders that are actually sturdy ?

Are the cables supposed to be different lengths?

I would be surprised if you could find OEM replacements for that. Your best bet would be to find replacement parts at salvage yard or have them shipped to you of course. One of the vendors might have some parts you need. Try user: Stangmurdera.

I'm pretty sure if you measure it you can install a GOOD aftermarket one the same size, DONT USE EBAY FOR THIS!!!!

I would just get on car-part.com and see if you could locate a full sunroof assembly or post an add on here. Im not trying to deter you from fixing yours, im just lazy and would rather unbolt 6 bolts and a couple screws and plugs then rebuild a sunroof. I always wanted to try and make the 2g sunroof work like a stock 1g and eliminate that whole motor assembly. I think it would be cool to make it out of carbon fiber for weight savings and gangster appeal.

Pretty sure I could just make it work without the my or just disconnect the cables and there is tabs you push/pull it just won't lock open is the bad part LOL.... Anyways I'm not really sure what I'm gonna do I just don't have a lot of money to spend on stupid sunroof parts when I'm trying to get the car running again LOL

And to get to the cables you have to take out your pillar panels both side panels remove sunroom then unplug all te motors and them drop the sunroof pan from te inside of car after you detatch the upper sunroof pieces LOL

You think a junk yard would sell me whole motor, cable, "pan" , and sliders assembly? Any clue how much it would be? And what years will for my 95 eclipse gsx?

pretty sure any 2g can fit, they would sell it to you and just tell them its worth like 50$ for all of it new and they should sell it to you for like 30 or less at picknpull.

Alright thanks! I'll give them a call and see what they got

Does anyone else's sunroof when up can you shake it around quite a bit or are everyone else's pretty sturdy? My sliders and all bolts line up fine but the sliders even are not very sturdy?
