Well the talon is riding pretty ruff I'm looking to get new struts/shocks. I'm looking for some that arnt aimed towards racing I like enjoying my ride I speed a bit not much though (probation) so I want some that's not so ruff and bumpy. A friend told me kyb's I went to see what auto zone had they had a pair with S I forgot what they were called but they were 80$ a piece. I looked on ebay and I found a lot of shocks and some come a complete set including lowering springs but I don't know how well the shocks/struts are I'm also getting new mounts when I replace the shocks/struts.

Thank you.

Edit: the ones at auto zone were sachs

Honestly if you're just looking for a good quality replacement strut/ shock that doesn't cost too much, I'd go with the KYB GR2's. I had a set on my (now dead) 1999 Plymouth Neon daily driver and the ride quality felt fine. Handling response and feel were also up from stock, but I suppose that you should expect that when replacing worn out parts.

I bought the tokico set lowered it an 1 1/2 but now im wondering should i also replaced the strut plates and mounts or just keep them even if their in decent/good condition.

i have the kyb gr2's. a little pricier but can't go wrong.

I would only recommend using the GR2's as a direct stock replacement. These are not a wise choice to install on a lowered DSM. If you do the GR2's won't last more than a month or so. I have personal experience with this waste of $300 on a 95 GST.:notgood:

The KYB AGX's are a great "middle of the road" choice IMHO. They are designed for lowered cars and won't break your bank account.

Koni's are also an excellent option but are a bit more costly. But you do get what you pay for here. :D

Good Luck!

i only paid $350 for the tokico and another $50 for shipping not bad for getting the entire setup because with the agx's you dont get springs so seemed like a good deal :)

I installed the springs and struts the front dropped the 1in 1/2 that their supposed to but the back didn't did i do something wrong????

I was in a bind with money and my car would bounce so bad when I would hit a bump so I bought monroe struts for the front. The reviews are really bad but I have had them for 4k miles about and they still feel new. I would say they are great for the price I don't race or any thing so for a dd 2 thumbs up. It was like 160ish for the stops and boots and struts. I'm probably going to get hell for this but it worked for me :)

from what I have read, I might be buying the

TOKICO HP SPRINGS & SHOCKS 95-99 ECLIPSE TALON AWD

$400 bucks shipped

I'm looking for a similar setup for my DD... and the TOKICOs seems like a one stop shop for both shocks and springs while still adding a bit of a drop over stocks... am I wrong?
