hey, im about to replace a broken front subframe on a 93 awd tsi, and i was wondering if i could pull the subframe without actually removing the lower control arms? and just let them hang.

any help would be appreciated.

If i remember correctly the Control Arms bolt up to the Subframe And the Underbody. I do know that if you have to remove the Ball Joint from the Knuckle it is easier to Unbolt the control arms first since you can tilt them down to get a wrench on better. You might want to look but im pretty sure they do bolt to both the subframe and the body. Just unbolt it from the body and should be good.

Know what you mean, I had to change Control arms, Inner and outer tie rods, and a few other things to get mine on the road then find out im only running on 3 cylinders and my valve seals are shot. Hope everything goes well, I need to pull my rear subframe and change that out this spring. so that will be fun.
