Im replacing all the suspension mounts in my '93 Eagle Talon fwd and need some info on the subframe mounts before I tear into them and mess something up. For those of you who have replaced them or know how whats the best way to remove the old ones and install the new ones? Do you have to drop the subframe down or is there a better way? Do most people hack and burn out the old ones? The replacements are Energy Suspension Prothane mounts so if anyone has experience with these please speak up.

Thanks.

Every vehicle I've done they just push out with a washer, a piece of threaded rod and a short piece of pipe of a socket. The front ones under the Rad will fall out in your hand. Personally I've never had many issues with them in the AWD cars I've had or worked on, is there something wrong with yours?

Most of the mounts are removable by that method. My car is a fwd so it may be a little different but with the subframe mounts theyre mounted into the subframe wich is mounted up against the uni body. The only way to get behind them is to drop the subframe. Is this the method everyone uses or is there a better/faster way? Or do people just hack and burn them out and squeeze in the new one. ALso the new one has some washers with it and it almost looks like I need to drop the subframe to get that washer on; Im not sure that's why I'm asking if other people have experience with this.

Thanks.

Update: Got the mounts out. No I didnt torch them out like Ive seen others do in their threads. That stuff is toxic and about as bad as napalm if it lands on you! I took a decent size drill bit and drilled three holes across from eachother in the rubber and then pryed them out with a large flat blade screwdriver. Im surprised I couldnt find more on this subject but it doesnt look like very many people are replacing their suspension mounts. Hopefully this tip will help others in the future.
