I have a 97 GST and the other day I changed my breaks and I drove my car up the street to check them out. Everything was fine, I havent gotten down on it in a while so I decided to get up to about 85, once again everything is fine. I get back to my house and when I was pulling into my driveway it was hard to get into gear and the only way I could get it into gear was to push the clutch all the way to the floor. I drove it back out of the garage and took it back up the road and it still shifting hard so I adjusted the clutch out a little more because it didnt engage until it was almost on the floor. This morning before I came to work everything seemed fine until I went to leave and I couldnt even get it into gear. I have a brand new ACT 2100 clutch and a Fidanza flywheel with less than 10,000 miles on both of them. Can someone please help me diagnose this problem. (Sorry its so long)

I am going to take your advice and buy those parts but I just would like to know how will it benefit me. And I thought that the ACT TOB would have been better than the Mitsu being that it was made for the ACT clutch, im glad you told me to get the mitsu because i was going to use the ACT TOB again. Thanks for all the good info.

I would suggest taking their advice and getting all new OEM parts.

And the reason to use an OEM tob vs. an ACT one:

The ACT tob used to have a metal sleeve (I believe they fixed this though). You want to use one that has a plastic sleeve. Some ACT ones have come with a plastic sleeve, but it is still better to get an OEM one and be done with it since we know they work well.

ok thanks for all the info. im sick of spending money replacing parts when i could be improving my car. feels like im standing in one place

I know how you feel. I'm just now starting to put performance parts on my car and I've had it for over a year. I feel I spent way too much money on OEM parts and stuff just to get the car in good running order (as the guy before me knew very little about these cars). But, it'll all be worth it once you start putting performance parts on and don't have to worry about other things breaking (as often...). That and you car will perform like it should.

yeah, everytime i get enough money for dsmlink, BAAMM! i have to shell out money to fix something. I got all the parts I need to crank up my boost except an fpr and a proper way to tune it. I have e-manage but it looks waaaaay too complicated and i dont know anyone around my area that knows how to use it.

similar thing happen to me. tried bleeding clutch and adjusting it. actually what happened was the bell housing cracked on the backside so when i pushed to clutch the tranny was flexing with the crack. the slave would push the tranny back about a 1/4" away from the motor then it would start releasing the clutch.

I contacted ACT and the guy was real cool about everything. He's going to sell me another clutch at a discounted price and ill mail him my old clutch and if everything looks to be their fault he is going to give me my money back.
