Okay my previous balance shaft kit that was installed before i owned the car, failed, resulting in the bolt that holds the stubby shaft centered with the gear came loose and ended up being destroyed. I need to know...is this a specific bolt, or could I use any equal length grade 8 bolt? Silly question to some of you im sure, i just want to make sure before I button her all back up.

It's a special bolt. It's flanged and grade 10 as you can see in the BSEK VFAQ. Get a new one from a dealer.
