I am stumped on how to properly install my stubby shaft into my new oil pump/front case. Am I supposed to open up my old oil pump and use the bolt to hold the stubby in? What covers the topside of the bolt? Hopefully you guys can tell what I am talking about by looking at the pictures.

Thanks for your help!

Balance Shaft Eliminator Kit Install
Its a really great guide to go by,
but for the love of all things holy put some locktite on the bolt holding the stubby shaft to the gear.......about 3 months ago when i first got my motor put back in my car.....the bolt un threaded itself (while i was doing about 50mph) and seized the entire motor up and tore the timing belt, I got really lucky that my pistons have a really deep top dish to them or i would've had to replace the whole head and who knows what else.
