Stub shaft install

I installed the stub shaft on my oil pump but upon assembling the oil pump again it completely slipped my mind that there's timing marks on the gear. I know it's important for those to line up if I were to have the balance shaft still there but will it make a difference with the stubby there?

Nope. Put the mark any place.

Thanks for the reassurance. That's what I figured but just wanted to be sure.
