OK, this issue has me stumped. It's long, so be patient. First off, 93 AWD, 20g , 2g MAF, adj FPR, SMIM, 680cc injectors, stock ecu with S-AFC1. I have been driving this setup for a long time with no issues. Recently I was at the car wash and had washed my car, dried it, and went to take off. The car was running terrible. I checked the basics, I/C piping, AFC settings, etc, all good. It's running rich and just dumping fuel.
I get it home and start checking things, this is where I'm at;
I have replaced with known good working parts-
3 different ECUs
3 Different SAFCs
FPR
coil
power transistor
wires
plugs
injectors
injector resistor box
MAF
There are no codes in the computer, I can watch data and see air flow etc. When I use the AFC, I can add 50 or subtract 50 in the low throttle and it doesn't change anything. The car runs the exact same with the AFC plugged in or removed. I have air flow signal into the AFC and out.
At this point I have a stock ecu and stock 450's in the car and it runs great. But the AFC doesn't make any changes at all.

I am not a newbie regardless of my status, I have been working on DSMs for 8 years and have never ran into this issue. My guess is there is an issue with a ground or power in the engine harness, but I didn't want to swap a harness if there was some knowledge on what the exact cause or fix was.
Any knowledgeable help would be appreciated.

Seems like something got wet, could be anything as to the cause. I learned to be careful washing my car. Could be anything check the ecu pull it out and look at it.

As stated before, I've swapped the ECU out with 3 other known good ones, as well as the AFC with 3 known good ones.
I had been running this setup for over a year as it was and the AFC worked great.
I understand about getting things wet, but it has also been sitting for 4 months or more and should be dry.
I have a customer with the same problem on a 2g, and I'd like to have a good place to start when the car shows up so I'm trying to trace it down in my car first.

Four months once something is damaged its damanged could be anything that got soaked, sensor, coil pack etc. Been there coil was fried.

In the original post I listed everything that I have replaced/swapped with known good parts. Water may be a cause, but it's not a common component issue. I am looking for specific help from someone that has had this particular issue, not just random guesses.
As I said, I believe it is in the wiring, but I'd rather find the issue in the harness and correct it than just throw another part at it.

Well look at your wiring some of us may not have had a similar issue like yours. could be a short, since you mentioned wiring, it could be simple as that a short. Fixing electrical problems is a pita but you may have to find it.
