my engine is a fresh rebuild and its not completed, head is on, and intake and a few pluming lines etc, needs oil pump and water pump and timing parts yet before it can be put in. I ran out of funds do to some surgery (wizdom teeth) and so i must put it away for till i get the funds built back up again.

I got plastic wrap , like they rap they use on skids when shipping palets. Plan is to spray oil in the bottom of the block and put some up top and rap it up like a christmas present. It will be in a shed till its done, I'd rather have it in its engine bay but thats not going to happen for awhile. My worry is condensation , am i going to have problems with that? or anything else for that mater?
just thought i would ask,
thanks.

Really thick contractor grade trash bag. I assume it's on an engine stand? Just pull the trash bag over the engine and close the open end of the bag around the stand with a heavy duty rubber band or packing tape. That is an air tight seal! :thumb: Make sure to spray the engine down with some WD-40, Oil, or anything that prohibits rust from forming. Check on it every so often or so. I also like to spray some WD-40 on the inside of the bag to absorb any condensation that may happen to get in there. Also if you are able to store it in your basement it may be better since it will be in a temperature controlled environment.

i would soak the engine in WD-40 and then trashbag it and make sure to wrap up the entrance nice and tight with tape so that only a bit of air can get in. The wd-40 will prevent rust and the bag will keep water out. Thats what we always did at the auto school i go to.
