So im currently working on getting my '96 gsx brakes in order. The current situation is that it has a StopTech BBK from like a decade ago. Its got old calipers that still work fine from what I can tell, but the slotted rotors are heat cracked and need to be replaced. The problem is that I cant seem to find JUST the rotors I need since they are oversized (somewhere just over 12"). So im left with two options here... continue the search for the rotors that will fit or just change kits entirely. I was looking at the wildwood big brake kit with the 4 piston calipers, are these worth $1000? Ive had experience with Brembo and stoptech BBK and they are incredible, just curious if this is a massive downgrade, and if someone knows where I can find replacement rotors for these BBK that will work. Thanks in advanced.

So did you just need the rotors/calipers and flex lines for the wilwoods and nothing extra for the rear brembos?

$1000 is a fair chunk of the money you need for that paint job...

I'd say spend some time doing measurements and research. You can find a vehicle with the same lug pattern and the same radius rotors then it should work.

Well if I didn't already buy this car with the BBK on it I probably wouldn't care. I just don't want to downgrade the stopping power a terrible amount. I found that ill probably replace the rear rotors and calipers with OEM level stopping power while switching the front to either the wildwood 4 piston BBK for around $1000 plus whatever flex lines I need, or go with the CEIKA custom BBK for about $1400 lines and pads included (assuming they aren't trash for DSM). Obviously id be selling the used stoptech calipers that are currently installed.

I have spent a good while researching and found that I could find a replacement rotor that was said to fit. I will, however look into the difference in bolt circle diameter between the DSM and some of the European cars since I can find all kinds of replacement rotors for GTIs, A3s, etc...and if that works out ill keep the stoptech calipers. And youre right I NEED THAT PAINT JOB LOL

Have you tried calling Stoptech? It seems like they would have a record of old part numbers and such that they could possible cross-reference?

Calling them was a s***show for me but after I reassess my front calipers' condition up front, I may go with some custom rotors that will work from CEIKA. I just found out they will custom fab me a couple of rotors for about $600 which is a lot better than a whole other kit when all I need is mainly the rotors. Also these are 6 piston calipers so its be nice to keep them without shelling out $2000 for brakes

Well that's good to know haha. I'll stick with Wilwood then, their customer service is on point.

Update: Called Road Race Engineering (where these brakes were originally installed) and they set me up with some 328mm x 32mm slotted rotors from stoptech so we are all good now. Thanks guys.

CEIKA is just Taiwanese trash like Ksport, D2, etc and it's not even cheap enough to justify it in the first place. I would not trust my life with Taiwanese braking parts, they use substandard materials that could cost you your life. It's not worth the risk. The Evo setup is all you need, and it's built from OEM parts. It's cheaper and better all-around.
