stock wastegate pressure @ 19 psi??

I am running a 14b/7cm housing and other modifications.

Just finished tuning with bigger injectors and I am boosting 18+ psi. It stops at 19. I still have a smic so I am getting a little knock in third. I took off my boost controller because I thought maybe something was wrong with it, I hooked up my j-pipe nipple to the wastegate but still get 19 psi at WOT. I was looking to get 17 psi.

Can I adjust the wastegate somehow? It wasn't seating properly before so I used a couple washers and shimmed it. Is this causing a problem?

Can I use some kind of tools or something to tighten the wastegate up where it connects to the flapper?

Guessing you have a 3inch downpipe, and maybe a aftermarket o2 housing?

But, shouldn't the wastegate open at MUCH less when it is going straight from the j-pipe? I want to set it so it creeps to 17.

My 16g creeps just as bad with a 10psi wastegate actuator. And that was hooked up from the j-pipe to wastegate, no boost controller.

yes the issue is the washers, remove them and test the car again

Your lucky. With my unported turbine housing with 3inch dp and 2.5inch tubular o2 housing i was creeping to 21psi by it self.

Porting is pretty much your only bet man, shimming the wastegate doesnt help much

Just installed my MHI big 16g today along with tubular o2 housing and hallman pro boost controller. On my first test drive WHAM 20+psi. It scared the crap out of me hahaha. I loved the feeling but knew something wasn't right. After turning the nob on my MBC several times trying to adjust it, it seemed like it wasn't working. I then disconnected my controller and ran vacuum line from WGA to J-Pipe. Now I just see 9-10 psi only and never more. I don't understand how i could be getting boost creep just by having a boost controller hooked up....



Tomorrow I will be taking my tubular o2 housing off and putting my stock 2g housing back on. Any input would be great.



Shouldn't I be seeing boost creep with or with out the boost controller hooked up?

o2 dumps have worked well for others treating with boost creep. Boost spikes with turbos are common boss. Turn your boost down alittle and let it creep to 19lbs. =)
