Stock Rev Limiter?

I remember reading somewhere that on a stock 420a, it shouldn't cut out until like 8200 or something ridiculous like that. I found that my car won't go past 7100. It doesn't bounce like a rev limiter, but it just won't exceed it. Thoughts?

The stock rev limiter is around 7200 rpms.
