Ok.I'll keep this short as I can

I started my car (cold). The belt came off after a minute idle. I turn off car. Pop hood. See that my crank pully (harmonic balancer) is (appears to be) bent. I get a better look in day light to see that it is actually fine looking, but the crank is legit out. I believe it is crank walk, because my explanation for the way the hb is sitting would be " it looks like the bearing the crank is resting on are gone".

If I look at the back of the crank pully, (I stand closer to the windshield and look down at it). I see a shinny silver looking area that looks like it is actually cracked. I would post pictures but I am on an iPhone.

If it is crankwalk. Would I be able to repair the block, or do I now need a swap. And if I need a swap, can I use a awd gsx engine for my 5speed fwd gss? I have already found a ton of 4g63t and nt with low kms. (tiger japan, direct japan, jdm imports, other distributors like those three).

crankwalk will effect your engines performance not just break your accesory belt but, If you believe its crankwalk take a prybar to your crank pulley and check for any movement. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/222226-how-check-crankwalk.html

you might wanna take your crank pully off to check it out if u see something messed up on it, its not that hard.. take your wheel off then the plastic cover and pully has 4 bolts on it

if it is crankwalk you will be able to repair it, as far as swaps go, im not familiar with n/t spyder but if u have a 420a sohc engine 4g63 swap is outa question , if your spyder has the n/t 4g63 dohc engine you pretty much almost have gsx engine. but if you want awd you need awd tranny driveshafts rear end axles and the whole shabang. now if you do have the n/t 4g63 you can swap in a 4g63t. But you will need a turbo ecu to go with it.

4G63 should drop right in place for of your 4G64, whether it be from a GS-T or GSX. It doesn't matter, both are the same exact thing.

All N/T Spyders have the 4G64 engines in it. None of them came with the 420a. Just a little food for thought. :thumb:

Thanks alot guys. I'm going to get a for sure Diogenes soon on if it is cw or not. But it's one of those 99% sure things. I can find a nt 4g63 or 4g63t between 700-1200 easy (not including shipping. I am in Canada and own the only spider in this part of where I live, so parts are scarce). If I get a 63 will I need ecu and all the other stuff, or will the engine be all I need.

Sorry for asking for a list but I searched the forum and can't find it andy iPhone will only load so much.

I really appreciate it
